Mathew POV I finally find my mate after years of frustratingly waiting and she runs away? Did I smell that bad? I have to find her. I will have her. She is my mate and I will not let her run so easily. I never even got to learn her first name. After my arm was very broken in a sparring match they pushed me to the medical bay and said wait here for Dr Hansen. I felt like I waited hours but I knew many others had also broken limbs and she was just one person. When she walked in the room, my nostrils were filled with the scent of flowers. I didn’t care about the pain in my arm I just wanted her. But being the good doctor she was she healed my very broken arm and then ran so frantically away. She may not have said mate as I did but I knew her wolf told her. We must go after her my wolf Garrett tells me.
I know and we will, I turn around to head back into the training hall to find Alpha Aidan. “Where does your pack doctor go after training?” I bark.
“She goes home, why?” Aidan replies cooly.
“She is my mate, where is her home? I must go after her. She ran out of the room as soon as she finished healing me.”
“Ah, I see. She lives in a cottage a few miles down the road. Right on the edge of the lake. Hard to miss it.” I turn very quickly and beginning running to find my mate.
Victoria POV I’m so freaked out by finding my mate and not wanting him that I find myself in a daze. I drive to my parents instead of my cottage. I ring the doorbell frantically looking behind me hopping my mate didn’t follow my scent. “Hi sweetie” my mom says as she opens the door and I run in and hug her. “To what do we owe the honor of you joining us? I figured you’d want to relax at home with the diamond lake pack coming in.”
“I was helping the warriors heal after train go and I found him” I tell her as we plop on the couch in the living room. “Found who?” My dad comes out of the kitchen to sit in his recliner. “Him. My mate.” I reply
“Oh! Honey that’s so good! Waits why are you here then? You should go be with him? Who is he?” My mom replies cheerily.
I slump in the couch and say, “I have no idea who is he but he’s from the diamond lake pack. Mom, I don’t know if I want a mate. It’s been 11 years and the moon goddess just decides to plop him in my life after I’ve worked so hard to get where I am. I don’t want a mate to come in and screw it all up. I waited so long that I gave up hope on my mate and convinced myself I don’t even want one. I’m really freaked out right now.”
“Oh honey” she pulls in me in tightly to her chest as silent tears roll down my face. “A mate is only a gift from the moon goddess herself. This will not mess up your life” she pulls me up and holds my chin to look at her. “There is absolutely no reason to run straight away from your mate. You have to give him a chance. Don’t reject him unless you feel you absolutely have to.”
“I understand having apprehension. You stay here as long as you need darling.” My father says while coming around to hug me as well. “Your mother and I have prospered more together than we ever could have alone. The moon goddess gives us our mate to help us grow not pull us back.” I nod my head and blow my nose with a tissue. I loved my parents more than anything in the world, they were so understanding even when things didn’t make sense. I stayed with them the rest of the evening enjoying their company and mustering up strength about my mate.
