Diamond Lake Pack were coming in today. I knew it would be a busy evening after the training this afternoon fixing displaced shoulders and whatnot so they could heal properly. I moved any patients I was able to this afternoon so I wouldn’t be too stressed out dealing with a whole new pack. Some males had trouble letting go of their ego and letting me look over them. I didn’t care anymore at this point cause I’m a tough woman now and I do not have a care in the world what another male thinks of me.
I pack up my bag full of salves and what not and head to the training ground to meet Alpha Raphael and anyone else that needs mending.
I walk in and find Alpha Aidan and give a slight bow in respect, “good afternoon, we’ll almost evening I should say. How is training going?”
“It’s going well, I have a few wimps lined up in the medical bays waiting for you.” Aidan replies in a gruff voice. “But they can wait, let me introduce you to Alpha Raphael here.” We shake hands, “This is Dr Victoria Hansen, she is the best doctor in the pack.”
“I didn’t realize we needed to have a doctor around, we are wolves we can just heal ourselves.” Raphael says to Aidan hardly glancing at me. “We learned the hard way it’s better to not advance the healing process unless everything is lined properly. You never know what can sneak up on you.” Aidan replies cordially, defending me well.
“Whatever you say, let’s check in on training.” Raphael says to Aidan. Aidan rolls his eyes and mouthes to me that he’s sorry. I shrug and walk to the medical bay to help all the broken limbs. Crystal is waiting for me ready to help in any way. She is one of my favorite people.
They put small cubby like rooms in the training hall for warriors to go to wait on me or any nurse on standby during training. I enter the first with Crystal and get down to work.
After looking over several warriors’ wounds, I’m about to enter the last room when I feel my spine shiver. That was weird. What’s going on with you? Lia says to me. I’m not sure what’s going on but all of a sudden nerves were flooding my stomach for the first time since my residency.
I open the door and the scent of mistletoe floods my nostrils, along with a lot of sweat. I try to keep myself calm as I walk in and make eye contact with the man sitting up in the bed. Mate. Lia says with confidence, none of which I feel. My stomach drops as I stand there. “Mate” the man says he sits up fully and winces in pain from his arm. Quickly I shake out of my fog and force him back down on the simple bed and start feeling his arm. Wow that’s a lot of muscle Lia says purring contentedly at our mate in hands reach. Shut up I need to concentrate I tell her. “Your arm is broken in several places please lay still and try not to heal until I make sure it’s all aligned properly. Crystal come hold his forearm while I hold his shoulder. Okay, now.”
The man scrunches his face in concentration and I feel the muscles and bones reshaping correctly. As soon as it’s finished, I rip off my gloves and practically run for the door. I grab my things and as I’m nearing the door to my Buick, I hear him bust open the door behind me calling me. “Wait!! Wait!! We are mates why are you running?!” I just look at him and sigh. Go and kiss him you i***t Lia says. “I-I-I.. “ I groan frustrated and get in my car and drive home. Lia howls in my head pouting that I ran from my mate.
