Chapter 6

--- I woke up to the feeling of a cold breeze. Hmm. That was a good sleep. I sat up quickly, checking myself—fully clothed. Nothing happened? Curious, I peered out the window. Snow was falling. Wrapping myself in a thick blanket, I watched as the world outside transformed into something breathtaking. The atmosphere was peaceful, and the students seemed… happy. After getting dressed, I headed downstairs. The air was filled with laughter, and the students wore bright, carefree smiles. "What's going on?" I asked, confused. "Even with everything happening in the world, they still find joy," a girl beside me said. "Huh?" "It's snowing. It hasn't snowed like this in over a hundred years. This is the first time in a long while." People were celebrating, as if this snowfall was something special. "Who's happy?" I pressed, but no one answered. Instead, another female student approached. "The snowfall symbolizes his emotions. When it snows like this, soft and gentle under a bright sky, it means he is happy. But if it grows harsh… that means something else entirely." "What?" I swallowed hard, feeling an odd sense of unease. "When the winds howl, when thunder and lightning strike, it means the heavens are furious. And do you know? No one here has ever witnessed such a storm before." "Who is ‘he’?" I asked, my curiosity growing. "The child of the God of Gods and Goddesses." Ridiculous. I wanted to laugh, to brush it off as nonsense. But the way they spoke, the way they looked at the sky with reverence, made me hesitate. Some of the girls wandered off toward the dining hall, their excitement unshaken. The academy was massive, a place where students trained their abilities, honing their skills under strict discipline. The blue sky above and the towering trees around us created an illusion of freedom—but I knew the truth. No one could leave without permission. Then, we all turned as someone new arrived. Him. I swallowed as he took a seat at our table, eating in silence. No emotion, no expression. Yet when his eyes met mine, I froze. "He’s the one they were talking about," someone whispered. "The child of the God of Gods and Goddesses," another murmured. I turned to my friend, but my gaze was drawn back to him—his piercing yellow eyes. "His golden eyes," I whispered, unable to look away. What are you? Why do I feel this strange pull toward you? My appetite vanished. Something about him unsettled me. The first time I saw him, his eyes were black, filled with a deep, bitter sorrow. But another day, they were the color of the sky. Was I the only one who noticed? Licking my lips, I shivered. I must be losing my mind.
