l woke up feeling happy today. l had the best dinner with Eva yesterday.l was driving to the cafe l saw her the first time seeing her. But sadly, l did not see her . l ordered my coffee and went to work feeling somewhat disappointed, l just can't explain the feeling l having towards her.l never felt this strange connection towards her . l had a surgery to perform this morning a young girl with a Brain tumor which was dangerous for her age. l was was walking through the corridor when l saw the little girl which l had to perform the surgery on crying and eva comforting her.l was caught of guard by the sight. I slowly walk towards them and sat at the left side beside the girl while Eva sat at the right side of the girl. " l don't want to die " the young girl said through sobs. " you are not going to die" Eva said comforting the girl. " I am the one going to operate on you" . l said to the young girl. she slowly lift up her head look at me with eyes filled with tears. " l can reassured you that if you perform the surgery you are going to live" l said comforting her. " is he really saying the truth" she asked Eva in a tiny voice. Eva nodded. And relief flash across the young girl face looks like trust. l dried her tears and he spoke in a timid voice " l am ready to perform the surgery". we took her to hospital room and l and my supervisor took a CT scan on her brain to locate the tumor. we gave her anesthesia so for her to sleep and not feel any pain .l shave and clean a little part of her head. l carefully opened a piece of her skull.Then l gently move to the safest part of her brain and remove the tumor trying much as possible not to damage the brain.while all this was happening Eva was standing next to me while l was operating on the girl.l glance over at her she somewhat had a concerned look on her face. l had to admit she was a very kind person although she had no relation to the girl she was worried for her. After l was done removing the tumor the girl was bleeding and l stop the bleeding, replace the the bone piece and finally close her skin with stitches . Nurse Carter wipe my sweat with a cotton . After we finished performing the operation l sent the tumor to the lab to find out what type of tumor it is . l sent the the girl to a proper room to rest and for further observation. I was coming out of the restroom when Eva walk up to me and said " Well done on your first surgery in your new hospital" with a smile. l felt my heart skipped a beat with a sweet smile . " Thank you". I said to her. " l am going to my lunch break and would you like to have lunch with me " l ask her. She looked at me shyly and slowly nodded. We went outside the hospital and entered the restaurant near it we both ordered sandwiches and fries. " So the last time l wanted to ask about your family but seems like you were unwilling to tell me about them"l ask her curiously l didn't want to push her into talking about something she didn't want but at the same time curious got the better of me. she immediately tensed up and l felt the atmosphere immediately became tense. " You don't have to tell me if you do not want to tell me ". l will tell you but not right here because we are in are are in a crowded place meet me on the way home when are finished with our shifts" she said to me . After that the lunch ended with an awkward silence. We finished our lunch and inside the hospital again. we had emergencies . one was an acident that occured to Six teenage boys partying and driving carelessly. we had to perform operations on them immediately unfortunately, two of did not make on the way to the hospital. The deceased family were making a scene and holding some of our doctors accountable for the children passing. l felt sorry for them but thought they should have trained thier children better. They were drank and carelessly driving in broad daylight . Doctor and nurses were busy running up and down. one of the boys was almost at the verge of giving up the ghost but luckily, we save him. Parents we wailing and shouting at us like it was our fault some rich folks threatening to sue the hospital if we did not save their children. Thankfully, we were able to manage and save the other four but the other two passed away sadly. l felt really sorry as l remembered my elder brother also passed away in an accident he was not able to survive. So that pushed me to become a doctor and save lives which my parents were strongly against it. I sat in my office and thought of my elder brother how we used to play when we were young all my childhood sweet memories. I took out a necklace, the piece of me that l carried through my entire life. l still remembered that day vividly. After my brother passing l run out to the street and was crying when l was suddenly approach by a young girl who comforted me and gave me this necklace. l am still looking for her to thank her and repay her kindness but unfortunately l have not yet still find her. l finished my shift and waited for Eva at the hospital entrance for the truth.
