Viola froze. With a soft thud, her phone slipped from her hand, and the voice message was automatically sent.
Arthur bent down smoothly to pick it up, handing the phone back to her as if nothing had happened.
"Viola, what brings you here?" Elvin Ellis, the owner of Crimson Tide Law Firm, appeared genuinely surprised to see her. After all, Viola had once been their star attorney. He had tried numerous times over the years to coax her out of retirement, but she had always refused. Seeing her now at the firm was nothing short of shocking.
Arthur raised an eyebrow. "Mr. Ellis, you know Ms. Abbott?"
Concerned that Elvin might reveal too much, Viola quickly interjected, "We've met a few times before. Mr. Ellis has a great memory." She subtly signaled to Elvin with her eyes.
