Chapter 1
I walked to the limo waiting for me at the entrance of our manor, they opened the door for me when they spotted me. I saw my sister waiting inside while on her phone.
“You're here, what took you so long?” she said without even looking at me. “Mishaps with the dress” she nodded at my answer.
“Is that party so important that we have to go?” she looked at me and sighed “the host apparently owns a real estate company and you know how dad has been wanting to have his hands on the real estate industry”
“Please, we can do that without their help” She sighed again and continued what she was doing on her phone.
The ride took about forty-five minutes before we arrived.
I looked at the grand manor in front of me and couldn't help but see how beautiful it was. It was grand but still couldn't compre to ours.
It was inspired by the versailles just like ours but a little bit modernized whereas ours was very classic like.
I entered the manor assisted by their butler and the guest couldn't help but gawk at us.
The stares and whispers were noticeable, it couldn't be helped, it's not everyday you see the heiress of Zalde Group show up to a party.
We hated parties, I hated mingling with people and Yesha hated getting stared.
I held my sister's hands when I noticed how she was already panicking with all the stars.
I'm four minutes older than her and even then she still treats me like I'm years older.
Were not identical, I have softer visuals while she had that resting b***h face that makes everyone refuse to talk to her.
I saw our mom and dad looking at us along with another couple, which I guess is the host of the party.
She gestured us to come closer, which we did. “This is my daughters Hera and Yesha.” The lady looked at us in awe. I smiled and nodded my head at her.
“You girls are very pretty, i wish i had a daughter but i was blessed with a son”
She said while looking at us with adoration.
“Who knows Shaya, you might not have been blessed with a daughter but perhaps a daughter in law?” they laughed elegantly at what my Mother just said’
“You should meet my son,” the lady said ang gestured to someone to call for her son.
A minute later a boy with dark hair was coming towards us.
“This is my son, Azriel Casius. I hope you girls get along with him well.” I stared at the boy in front. He didn't look any different from us; he looked like a teenager.
I felt my mom's hands nudge mine and I knew exactly what she meant by that. I immediately offered my hand to the man in front of me and smiled sweetly.
‘“Hera Saldivar, nice to meet you” he held my hand and introduced himself too.
“Nice to meet you” he said cooly, now that i'm seeing him up close i can actually see his features more: his dark eyes, sharp jaws and immense aura that screams power and authority was crashing through my being.
He's handsome and princely.
“I hope the three of you get along well, especially you and Azriel, Hera,” they laughed at what my mom just said.
Are they saying I don't have friends? That they want me to be friends with this man?
“Mingle” I jumped slightly when I felt my mom whisper in my ear. I didn't know anyone so I just followed Yesha around since she was the one who had a lot of friends.
“I'll just talk with my friends, are you gonna be okay?” she asked.
“Yeah don't worry” I gave her an assuring smile. She ran to her friends immediately leaving me alone.
I looked around and saw a lot of teenagers my age having fun talking to their friends.
I wish I had friends too but on second thought I hate entertaining people and I hate talkative people so I guess I'm more comfortable being alone.
All my life I was homeschooled unlike Yesha. I loved studying but I hated going to school. I had tutors. I'm only seventeen and yet I'm already studying law. I guess that's why daddy never complained about me going to school because I'm more comfortable studying alone.
I walked around and saw an entrance to the balcony. I immediately ran to get some fresh air but to my surprise I saw a tall figure smoking a cigarette. He looked at me and continued to smoke.
“I'm sorry Azri i didn't know you were here” i apologized “you can stay” he said when he noticed i was about to leave.
I stood next to him, not too close and not too far. “I actually expected you here” I looked at him in confusion.
“This is the only way to escape the people inside” he said looking at the nothingness.
“Right”
“Aren't you a minor? You're not supposed to smoke” I said. “I'm eighteen” he said sternly.
“Oh” was i too nosy? I don't think I was though.
We stood there together just feeling the cold breeze without us saying anything and no sense of awkwardness.
“You hate the crowd?” He broke the silence.
“Yeah” I said coolly.
“Me too”
“Didn't expect that from you” I said under my breath.
“How come?” Now he's looking at me, he put out his cigarette and looked at me.
“Well I heard from my sister that your family does a lot of parties so i thought you got used to it” i said avoiding his gaze.
“Just because I'm used to it doesn't mean I like it,” he said, still staring at me.
“I guess”
“How about you?” I looked at him but I immediately avoided his gaze because he was still looking at me, like he was studying my face.
“Uhm well, i don't like it” he let out a chuckle to what i just said.
“It's good that you're staying here with me then” now i was looking at him.
The moonlight was the only source of light we had but I can still see his face.
I just noticed that he has a mole in his lower jaw.
“Yeah, it's good- '' I was cut off by my mom's voice.
“HERA! O-oh’ he was about to lash out on me for hiding from the crowd but stopped when he saw Azri in front of me.
“I was just about to say that your father is looking for you” she looked at me and to Azri “excuse us” she said cheerily.
I followed her and she looked like she won the lottery or something because she was humming.
“So? What were you and Azri talking about?” I looked at her confused.
“Nothing important” i said before i ran to Yesha just so mom would stop questioning me.
The party ended and we immediately waited for our limo while mom and dad decided to stay a bit longer to talk business.
I looked at Yesha smiling from ear to ear wearing a man's jacket. I raised my eyebrows at her “whose is that?”
“I'll tell you when we get home” I rolled my eyes at her but then my eyes caught Azri heading towards us.
“Waiting for your ride?” I nodded and flinched when the cold air passed by me.
But before I knew it a jacket was already on my shoulders.
“I-its fine” I was about to give it back when he stopped my hands.
“You're cold, take it” my face heated up while he was fixing the jacket on my shoulders, his face was close to mine and i could feel his warm breath.
The limo arrived at the perfect time “thank you, i'll give this back i promise”
“Sure” he smiled softly and closed the limousine door.
“I suppose i don't have to ask you whose jacket you're wearing” Yesha suddenly said which made my face heat up more.
“Oh, shut it”
