The attack came on a Tuesday. I know it was a Tuesday because Finn had complained about Tuesdays specifically that morning at training, something about the way the duty roster fell and how Tuesdays always seemed to produce the worst weather and the most paperwork. I had laughed at him. By evening I would think about that laugh and how ordinary it had been and how completely ordinary moments can sit right up against the most dangerous ones without any warning between them.
