PRINCESS MIKAELA

1581 Words
“Long live Your Majesty!” Jonathan shouted as he rushed down from Logan’s side. He ran toward Arthur through the rain and hugged him tightly. “Thanks for coming, Uncle,” he said. Mikaela pulled him away from Arthur. “No one is allowed to hug my father besides me. Get that,” she said, rolling her eyes. Jonathan glared at her. The people were still bowing, waiting for the king to speak. Logan was still sitting on his chair like a living dead man. Shakira and Alice were still staring at Mandela. The Queen Dowager stood up and immediately left the place. “Speak, Your Majesty,” Mandela said from behind him. “I hope my reign will bring nothing but peace,” Arthur said simply. Everyone raised their bowed heads. “Long live Your Majesty!” they chorused happily. Logan stormed away angrily as the ministers surrounded Arthur. “We’ll lead you in,” the top minister said. Arthur gave them a poker face before following them. Mikaela and Mandela tagged along. The moment they entered the palace, the rain stopped. The first place Arthur was taken to was the King’s Court, where the throne was located. Immediately they entered, Mikaela gushed and began rushing around. “Whoa! Father, it’s so beautiful in here! More beautiful than that old forest!” she shouted, touching everything she came across. She got to the throne and made to sit. “You can’t!” one of the ministers said. Mikaela rolled her eyes. “Why can’t I sit on my father’s throne?” “Even His Majesty himself can’t sit on it yet, until the enthronement ceremony in three days,” another minister explained. “To hell with your filthy traditions! I’m off to take a look around the palace,” she said rudely and left the court. “Follow her,” Arthur told Mandela. “Yes, Your Majesty.” He bowed and left. “Why can’t I sit on the throne until the enthronement ceremony?” Arthur asked. The top minister brought out an ancient prospectus. “It contains all the rules of the Supernatural Palace, made by our ancestors. They are rules to be followed by every king.” He handed it to Arthur with a bow. Arthur took the book and opened it. He began reading quickly until he found what he was looking for. A supernatural king who comes to the palace without a queen will have to choose a virgin lady through a selection process. Anyone he chooses will be crowned his queen, so she can ascend the throne with him on the enthronement day. A supernatural king can never ascend the throne without a queen. Arthur sighed after reading the passage, then faced the ministers. “What happens if I refuse to follow this rule?” “It’s in there,” a minister replied. Arthur looked at the book again. A king who refuses to do this will pay with the dearest thing to him. “Mikaela,” Arthur muttered. “I’ll inform the Queen Dowager to gather as many noble virgin maidens as possible, so the selection can happen two days from now,” the top minister said. Arthur smirked. “Now that I think about it, I don’t need you all.” Their eyes widened. “Your Majesty…” “I don’t need ministers,” he cut in. “You mean… you’ll rule alone?” the top minister asked. Arthur turned to the left. He waved his hand, and three old men appeared right there. They looked ancient and prehistoric, and they were all dressed in sparkling white. Even their hair was completely white. “The Three Sages of Dove Forest. They’ll live in this court from now on. I need just them,” he said. The ministers went silent. “Leave the palace. Right now.” Without another word, the fifteen ministers walked out. Arthur faced the sages. “Welcome to your rightful place, Arthur,” the one in the middle said. Arthur nodded once and walked out of the court. The guards then began leading him to his suite. LOGAN’S SUITE Everything breakable in Logan’s room was already in pieces. He had broken them in anger, but his rage still wasn’t quenched. He started punching the wall heavily until part of it crumbled. “Arthur!” he screamed, remembering how the moment Arthur stepped into the palace, it started raining. “You must have missed me so much,” Arthur replied as he came in. He had actually been on his way to his suite when he heard his name, so he branched off. “Bastard! How dare you come here? How dare you steal my place?” Logan barked. “The throne was never yours from the beginning, and I need to kill your Oracle. How dare she set a kid’s trap for me? Am I a joke to her?” Arthur replied calmly. Logan came closer. “You don’t deserve the throne! You’re a beast!” he shouted. “A beast is a lot better than a monster,” Arthur replied. Logan smirked, locking eyes with him. “You might be the king, but I’m never going to bow to you. Never!” “I don’t care about your bow. There are a hundred more bows waiting, and you should start preparing to leave,” Arthur replied. Logan laughed crookedly. “I’m sure you read the prospectus already. You should know by now that ex-kings have the right to stay in the palace too, so I’m going nowhere!” “Then get ready to die by my hands,” Arthur replied slowly. Logan bit his lip hard as he walked out of the suite. “Arrrgh!” he screamed, hitting the wall angrily again. Beth came in with Jonathan, and Logan glared at them. “Get out, you both.” “How does it feel to suddenly be below?” Jonathan asked. “What?” “To be sincere, I’m glad you’re off the throne. At least, your atrocities will die down. I don’t care if I’m not the queen anymore,” Beth said. Jonathan winked at him ridiculously. When Logan made to attack him, Kyle came in. Jonathan left with Beth. Logan held the only surviving table in the room, breathing heavily. “My Lord,” Kyle said. Logan looked at him sharply. He almost attacked him for not addressing him as His Majesty, but when he remembered that he was no longer king, he calmed down. “Invite the Oracle here. I’m going to tear her to bits myself,” he commanded. “Yes, My Lord,” Kyle replied and left the room. ••• “This is exactly why I’ve always longed to live in the palace. How beautiful!” Mikaela said as she moved around happily, going through every nook and cranny of the palace. “Greetings, Your Highness,” some guards said, bowing to her as they walked past. She smiled. “I love myself right now!” She suddenly saw a flower pot beside a window and walked over curiously. Merely inhaling the scent made her face twist. “I hate flowers,” she said and tried to burn it. But the window opened, and Jonathan came into view. It was actually his room. “Junior, what are you doing beside my window?” he asked. “Junior?” Mikaela’s eyes widened. “Heard you’re ten. Forget the fact that you look older and taller than your age,” he replied. “And you’re?” Mikaela asked, rolling her eyes. “I’m fifteen,” he replied. Mikaela smiled. “Nice to meet you.” Jonathan stretched out his hand for a handshake, but Mikaela pulled it instead. She dragged him out of the room, and he fell at her feet. “Ouch!” he winced. She placed one leg on his head. “Now, who’s the junior?” she asked with a smile. Jonathan grabbed her leg and pushed her away. Mikaela staggered but didn’t fall. He stood up and held her neck. Mikaela grabbed his neck too, and they started trying to strangle each other. “Heard you’re half-wizard. You can never be my match,” Mikaela said with a smile as her eyes shone blue. Jonathan started bleeding from the nose. “Mikaela!” Mandela came rushing over and quickly separated them. Jonathan fell against the wall, holding his red, hurting neck. “Are you okay?” Mandela asked. He nodded slowly. “I’m fine,” he said, wiping the blood from his nose. “You haven’t spent up to an hour here, Mikaela, and now this?” Mandela said, facing her. “He started it by calling me Junior. How dare he?” she said, rolling her eyes. Jonathan walked away quietly. Mandela sighed. “He’s older, you know.” “I don’t care. Take me to my suite,” she replied. Mandela led the way. The princesses’ suites were interwoven, so they were all inside one villa. Flowers were the only things separating each suite. Immediately they came in, Princess Shakira came out of her room. Her eyes widened when she saw Mandela. “Pretty new princess! Nice to meet you!” she said cheerfully, rushing to hug Mikaela. Mikaela pushed her back. “If you hug me, I’ll kill you,” she said hatefully “Wow, you hate me at first sight?.” Princess Shakira asked bewildered.
