STEAMY TEASHOP

“Fire!” Reggie screamed, frantically trying to put out the flames as Sally cried. Fire raged through every corner of the prison, and several prisoners were already being burned alive. Their agonizing screams echoed throughout the dungeon. “Mother!” Reggie screamed again through his tears as the flames began spreading across Sally’s body. Mikaela smiled as she watched the destruction she had caused, but her smile quickly faded when sss suddenly crashed through the rocky roof and landed inside the dungeon. She immediately rushed toward Mikaela, but the first cell she entered was Sally’s. Amazon slammed her palm against the wall. Instantly, water burst from it. The water reached Sally first, extinguishing the flames consuming her body. Unfortunately, part of her arm had already been badly burned. “Mother!” Reggie quickly threw his arms around her. The water spread throughout the entire cell, washing over the flames until they were completely extinguished. But the moment the fire went out, Mikaela moved with incredible speed toward sss. She attempted to stab her with poisoned needles, but sss caught her hand and forcefully shook the needles away. They fell to the ground and vanished. Mikaela immediately grabbed sss by the throat and shoved her backward until her back slammed violently against the wall. “Ahh!” sss groaned in pain. Her back had definitely been injured. “I’m the daughter of the only demigod in Baal! I’m the only witch who has ever survived a s***h from the Sword of Hell! How dare you put out my fire?” Mikaela barked. Her eyes glowed blue as she tightened her grip around sss’s neck. “Anger... won’t always solve... everything... Your Highness,” sss managed to say. Mikaela smiled wickedly before applying even more pressure. Amazon’s eyes began to close. Then, suddenly, the intervention of another person gave her hope. Bolt rushed into the dungeon and immediately charged toward them. He yanked sss away from Mikaela, sending both of them stumbling several feet away. Mikaela was about to attack again when Mandela appeared and grabbed her. “Come with me. Don’t say a word,” he ordered. Mikaela grunted angrily but followed him out. Bolt helped sss to her feet and held her tightly when he noticed how weak she was. “She almost got you killed,” he said. Amazon smiled faintly. “I didn’t fight back because she’s a princess.” “Even if you had fought back, you wouldn’t have been able to defeat her,” Bolt said. “But I wouldn’t have gotten hurt this badly,” she replied. Without another word, Bolt lifted her into his arms. “What are you doing?” she asked weakly. “You can’t possibly walk in your condition.” “The dead bodies—” “The guards will clear them. Just worry about yourself for now.” Amazon wrapped her arms around his neck as he carried her out. Even then, she kept looking back at Reggie until they disappeared from sight. THE DOWAGER’S SUITE Ten maids were assigned to Queen Riel immediately, in addition to the personal maid she had brought from home, bringing the total to eleven. “I’m so happy you were selected! I honestly wasn’t expecting His Majesty to choose you!” Shakira gushed, pulling Riel into a tight hug. “Me too. That handsome king actually shocked me,” Riel replied as they broke apart. “Don’t worry. Anyone who tries anything with you will have me to contend with,” Shakira assured her. “I trust you. And you know I’m not exactly a softie myself,” Riel replied. They both laughed. “Your maids will show you to your suite,” the Dowager said. “I’m not staying with His Majesty?” Riel asked. “Do as you’re told,” Shakira replied. Riel nodded as the maids led her out. “Take me to the king’s suite first. I need to see him,” she said. The maids nodded and led her there, remaining outside while she entered. “How gorgeous,” Riel murmured as she looked around the luxurious suite. “I wasn’t expecting anything less from a demigod.” She continued admiring the room until she reached the bedroom, only to discover that Arthur wasn’t there. Then she heard the sound of running water coming from the bathroom. Curious, she walked toward it. Arthur was sitting in the bathtub with his back against the wall and his eyes closed. Riel smiled. She removed her robe, revealing her sheer undergarments, then walked toward the tub and stepped inside. She sat opposite him and stared at his handsome face. He somehow looked even more attractive with his eyes closed. “He’s so cute,” she whispered proudly. When she reached out to touch his face, his eyes suddenly opened. “Touch my face, and you’ll pay for it,” he said coldly. Riel slowly withdrew her hand. “Your Majesty—” He cut her off by reaching for the crown on her head. He grabbed it and smashed it onto the floor. Riel’s eyes widened. “Your Majesty!” “That’s the fake one,” Arthur said coldly. “I have the real crown, and I’ll be the one to crown my queen myself.” He glared at her. “You’re not my queen. You’re only queen for the palace.” Riel stumbled out of the bathtub in fear. Arthur stepped out after her, his white undergarments soaked from the water. His muscular chest was exposed, while his wet hair clung adorably to his forehead. “And one more thing...” He turned toward her. “Learn to stay away from me. You’ll live longer if you do.” With that, he walked out of the bathroom. Riel remained frozen for a moment before following him. She found Mikaela waiting in the bedroom. She had apparently heard everything. “Aww! I love you so much, Father!” Mikaela exclaimed, hugging him. Arthur immediately broke the hug. “Rebelling against me by setting fire to the prisoners was senseless. You need to learn to control your anger.” He paused. “And again... learn to trust me.” He dressed himself and left the suite. Riel slowly emerged from the bathroom, looking frightened. Mikaela turned toward her with a knowing smile. “Avoid me too. I’m not nice.” She rolled her eyes before walking away. “What have I gotten myself into?” Riel muttered, holding her head. KING’S COURT Arthur went directly to the King’s Court after leaving his suite, where he found the sages waiting. He glanced at the throne before turning toward them. “I have a lot of questions,” he said. “About the slave?” the Right Sage asked. Arthur raised a brow. “You know about her?” “Your energy didn’t affect her as expected, did it?” the Left Sage asked. “I intended to make her suffer in pain, but instead, I was pleasuring her. And she was able to pleasure me too—something Morticia was never able to do when she was with me,” Arthur admitted. “You hate punishing the innocent, don’t you?” the Middle Sage asked. “But she isn’t innocent. She killed someone,” Arthur replied. The sages fell silent. Arthur’s expression changed. “Is she... innocent?” “You’re wise, Arthur,” the Right Sage said calmly. “Remain patient, and all the answers you seek will come to you willingly.” “That’s all you can tell me right now? Then why do I have to wait?” Arthur shouted. “I’m going crazy!” He stormed out of the court. “I need to visit Border Town,” he muttered to himself. In the next instant, he vanished. BAAL CITY Mandela walked slowly through the eastern part of the city, searching for the teashop. His sword was firmly held in his left hand as he looked around carefully, determined not to miss it. Supernatural beings might have been the major inhabitants of Baal, but humans still came to settle in the city every day. After all, one could never remain poor in the empire. He didn’t walk for long before finally spotting what he had been searching for. The teashop. Mandela stopped in front of the building and stared at it. It had once been the most popular teashop in Baal. Now, however, it was covered in dirt and dust. The building looked old, abandoned, and almost ready to collapse from years of neglect. He remembered his first day there and smiled when he recalled how he had accidentally shared his first kiss. But the smile quickly disappeared when he remembered that the owners were currently in prison. Tears gathered in his eyes.
