“Go on. Tell us what you can remember,” Naoki prompted, refusing to comment on the brewing spat between him and Reika.
When Kai considered the tale he had to tell, reluctance settled upon him. He remained quiet for longer than he intended.
“Don’t push yourself.” The placation came from Reika, who—after recounting his own experience again—seemed to be somewhat contrite about his earlier grilling of a man who had been shot only hours ago. He was clearly mad with Naoki, but he expressed it conversely by turning his kinder side upon Kai. “Just describe whatever you can remember and maybe the details will come more easily.”
