One phone call had cost the Stone Family two million dollars, all because Evelyn had demanded payment for Adrian Blackthorne's injury.
“That ungrateful girl.” He slapped the phone onto the desk. “Why did I even call her?”
Selena sat across from him, winding one finger around her cup handle.
“Father, was Evelyn hurt? Will the Blackthorne Alpha pursue the Stone Family?”
“She is perfectly fine.” Victor's voice grew rough. “She said Adrian was injured while protecting her and demanded two million as an apology.”
