Adrian caught Evelyn's wrist and pulled her away from the front seat.
“Hold on. We are almost there.”
She folded against his chest. Heat poured from her skin, and her fingers stayed twisted in his shirt. Her wolf kept lunging toward his scent, frantic beneath the wolfsbane.
The black sedan entered Moonlight Heights through the underground gate.
Adrian carried her into the private elevator. The medical team waited on the top floor. A doctor opened the treatment-room door, with medication and monitors prepared inside.
“Alpha, put her down,” the medical consultant said. “The wolfsbane has entered her bloodstream. She needs the suppressant now.”
Adrian placed Evelyn on the bed.
