Why did my heart skip a beat? Why did my judder on seeing Irene? It has been weeks since I have set my eyes on her and seeing her again kind of opened all the bad memories that I have locked in the furthermost corners of my heart.
"Kourtney, I would be right back" I said to Kourtney who attempted to follow me but I stopped her from doing so. While walking up the stairs, different thoughts clouded my mind. What was she doing here and most importantly, why did she have scars marred on her face?
Her face was pale with her left eye swollen. Her lips were cracked and with every syllable that fell out her mouth, my eyes were focused on her cracked lips. I knew that Irene deserves all the worst things in the world but who had the effrontery and audacity to do that to her?
