Irene's P.O.V I kept turning and tossing on my bed, I had a nightmare that sent chills to my bone as my eyes fluttered open with fore beads of sweat on my forehead. I scrutinized the room with my eyes, placing a hand on my head as I felt a sharp pain in my head. My sight was blurred as I leaned against the headboard of the bed, trying to process where I was. Slowly, all the memories came rushing into my head and most especially, how the man who was forcefully getting married to me turned out to be a werewolf. From what I could recollect, this wasn't the room I was in earlier. Could it be that the men who came to attack Xavier, killed him already and decided to take me with them? I hoped that was the case because I couldn't just wrap my head around the werewolf stuff and how my father could force me into a marriage with a werewolf. The most important thing was Xavier was dead already and if those people spared my life and brought me here, it could only mean one thing! And it meant that they decided to have compassion on me and brought me to a safe place. I could still feel a pang of fear in my heart but it was shoved off when I reassured myself that the dangerous werewolf, Xavier, was dead already. My gaze fell on a tray filled with a plate of cookies and a cup of coffee. A smile grazed my lips on seeing the food because heaven knew that I was starving so badly. Full of glee, I took the biscuits as my stomach made a growl. "Don't worry, I will soon fill you up" I muttered, laughing to myself. I suddenly stood still when I heard footsteps outside the door, the cookies were hanging in my mouth as I swallowed the lump that formed in my throat. The door creaked open slowly and my heart beat with trepidation. I couldn't understand how I was so full of life earlier and now, I was scared that something terrible was about to happen to me. A woman who had scars marred on her face poked her head inside and when her eyes caught mine, she beamed with smile while I squirmed on the bed, downing the cup of coffee. "Thank God, you have finally woken up " She squeaked, kneeling before me. "How long have I slept?" "You have slept for four hours. We thought something bad happened to you when you were brought here" "What do you mean by brought here?" "You were brought to the slave quarters by Beta Damian, but you have nothing to worry about, you are safe here" I couldn't describe the joy and butterflies that I felt in my stomach. I was right all along! The man who grabbed a fistful of my hair must have been one named Damian and he must have been the one who killed Xavier. "How can I thank this Damian?" "He isn't back yet? He would soon be back alongside master " Master? Who was the master? I shoved all the thoughts off and bit on the cookies while she clapped her hands three times as some women walked into the room with some wrapped gifts in their hands. "To our Luna " They all knelt, bowing their heads and the woman who first came in did the same thing they did. My brows furrowed in confusion, what was happening here and what did they mean by Luna? "Wait, what do you mean by Luna?" They didn't respond to me and carefully dropped the gifts in a corner, leaving the room. "What was the meaning of that?" I glanced at the woman, swiveling my gaze around the room and that was when my eyes caught something that made my heart almost jump out of my chest. It was a mannequin with a fancy dress on it. A wedding dress! I didn't want to give in to the thoughts running through my head, so I glanced at the woman, grasping her by the shoulders "Please tell me where I am?" She looked confused but it was replaced by a smile as she lowered her head. "You are in Supreme Alpha Xavier's house and because of the situation earlier, you were brought into the slave quarters for your safety" The cookie in my mouth suddenly turned sour and that was when the realization dawned on me. Xavier wasn't dead! "Ma'am please eat the cookie to your fill so that we can prepare for the wedding" Bile rose to my throat on hearing the word 'Wedding!' "Tell me that you are kidding? I am getting married today?" I muttered with tears glistening in my eyes. "Yes ma'am, please don't cry. Alpha Xavier would punish me if he see tears in your eyes" I pushed her aside as she fell onto the bed while trying to run out of the room but when I opened the door, my knees weakened immediately, my heart beat increased rapidly as my jaw clenched, trying to resist the urge of throwing up. The man whose emerald eyes bewitched me, at first sight, was standing at the door with his face devoid of any emotion. Alpha Xavier was standing at the door! I retraced my step backward as Xavier came closer with a straight expression on his face. "Why have you not dressed? " His cold hoarse voice snapped me out of my thoughts as I shuddered a breath. He glanced at the maid as she quivered in fear. "Why's she not dressed yet? How dare you disobey my command!" Xavier roared, walking towards her as she took a step backward. "I am sorry, she was still asleep" He viciously jerked her head upwards to face him. "You are lucky that I am in a good mood. I am giving you twenty minutes to make my bride ready or you would suffer the consequences for your negligence."
