"Mr. Ross, here's my paper for the last assignment. I wrote it before the deadline but couldn't turn it in because my roommate was found dead on my bed and I collapsed from shock. I've been in the school's hospital since then." Selena said, fighting back the tears that were threatening to fall out of her eyes.
Talking about the incident always brought tears to her eyes but there were times when it was unavoidable – like now. She had to provide an explanation for her late submission.
"I believe my rules aren't too difficult to understand. I don't accept late papers IRRESPECTIVE of your excuse!" Mr. Ross snapped coldly.
A knot formed in Selena's throat from the hurt his words made her feel.
"What a heartless douche bag."
As hard as she tried, the tears refused to stay behind her eyelashes. She turned away from the evil Mr. Ross, so he wouldn't see her cry. She didn't want to give him any more satisfaction. Alex's death was not an excuse and Mr. Evil-Ross could go to hell for all she cared.
Selena walked out of the classroom, leaving him there. She went to her locker in the cheer leading section to have some alone time. When she got there, she almost collapsed from shock at the sight in front of her.
Mr. Ross was standing there, leaning against her locker.
It was completely impossible for him to be there. She left him back in class and came straight to her locker. He didn't walk past her at any point. Even if he did and she somehow missed him, how did he know which locker was hers?
For a few seconds, Selena was confused – and transfixed. She wanted to turn around and head in the other direction, but her legs were firmly rooted to the spot.
Mr. Ross looked straight into her eyes and whispered to her. She had no option but to listen as the words rolled smoothly out of his lips.
"Meet me in my office."
Suddenly, the invisible force holding her legs to the spot released its grasp and Selena could move again. She found herself walking behind Mr. Ross, straight into his office.
There were no questions asked.
They arrived at his rectangular shaped work space and Selena immediately noticed how impeccable it was. There was no paper or file out of place, not even slightly. Textbooks were tucked neatly in bookshelves and student papers were arranged to perfection on his polished wooden desk.
He placed his briefcase gently on the table and proceeded to lock the door. Selena found that strange and unnecessary but said nothing about it.
She blinked several times as Mr. Ross slowly made his way towards her. A part of her knew what he was about to do and screamed at her to run or shout but the stronger part of her told her to be quiet because that was what he wanted. As crazy as it sounded even to her, that was what she did.
It was very confusing. Selena didn't understand why she would want to do his bidding instead of her own.
Mr. Ross finally got to her and placed a stray strand of her brown hair behind her ear. He traced a line with his finger from underneath her earlobe through her neck to her chin. A knot formed in her throat as she tried to suppress the deep feelings of lust his actions evoked within her.
Why did he affect me that way?
"Don't move." He whispered, looking straight into her eyes.
His eyes seemed to bore holes into Selena's skin, but in a good way. He leaned into her slightly, placing his face very close to her neck. She felt the warmth of his breath as his nose rubbed gently against the exposed skin of her neck.
Everything he was doing was inappropriate – but why was it so appealing?
