Chapter 4When I arrive at the office on Monday, Paul has opened up and is sitting at his desk surrounded by papers. Marie-Therese, my latest recruit, is making coffee. “Morning, Boss,” Paul says. “As you can see, I'm drowning under paperwork this morning.” He sweeps his arm over the desk with a flourish. “So, Marie-Therese has volunteered to go with you to interview the Poullets. It will be good experience for her.” He smiles at the newest recruit and winks and she nods her head enthusiastically. “I don't know what this sneaky devil has told you or promised you,” I say, addressing her, “but Paul is coming with me this morning.
