Chapter 12On Sunday I receive a call from Cedric. It seems he drew the short straw and had to attend the mass at St Jean this morning to speak to Pere Gregory. Although when he arrived, he discovered that the priest hadn't turned up. When he tells me this a chill runs down my spine. Cedric says he's called another cop for support because he's going to check the priest's home. I dread to think what he'll find. Still, at this stage, there's nothing I can do but wait.
Patricia and I continue our lunch in the garden as it's a glorious day. I tell her all about my meeting with Francis and she's very concerned.
