I woke up and to my right side, and Lizandro was right next to me asleep. He shirtless and looks amazing, his muscles are incredible. He has a lot more tattoos than I thought. Has I stare at him I began to caress his chest with my fingers, I felt him react to my touch. I got nervous and stopped.

“Don’t stop, I love your touch.” Lizandro told me. I look up to him and I see he’s looking at me.

“I don’t want to start something I can’t finish.” I tell him. There’s no time for that right now.

“I can finish it for you” he tells me with a flirtatious smile.

“No time for that right now.” I tell him and smacked him on the chest.

“Ouch! And you’re right we need to get you out of this town.” he told me and rubbed the spot I hit him.

“That didn’t hurt you. Can we stop at Jessica’s house before we leave town?” I would like to tell her bye.

“Of course gorgeous, how about your dad?” He asked me.

“I haven’t talk to my dad since the whole deal happened.” I rather not talk to him. I get to see him in court soon. Lizandro just nods, I got out of bed and head to the bathroom. I look at myself in the mirror, I look like s**t! I’ll probably take a quick shower. I turned on the water and took off my clothes and toss a side and got in, all of the sudden Lizandro walks in. Damn it!

“Can I join you?” Lizandro asked.

“No” I told him.

“Well why not? I promise I won’t bite hard!” Damn it he’s not making this easy!

“No you can wait for your turn” as I tell him he opens the shower door and walked in.

“Didn’t I tell you to wait!” as I am looking him up and down. His body looks incredible, he’s not too muscular but he does have some muscles. He has a pretty good size extra bone.

“You need to quit looking at it, unless you’ll like a quick taste?” damn he caught me looking.

“I just wanted to see what’s to come some day.” I tried to play it off.

“That’s fine I’m doing the same” as I watch him look me up and down. I need to talk about something, I can’t let my guard down.

“Nice tattoos” he adds.

“So your a wolf? Do you struggle with fleas when you’re not in your wolf form?” He laughed.

“No, we don’t get fleas. What kind of question is that?” He laughed again.

“I was just curious, I thought I’ll ask. Did you meet my mom once?” I ask him. His face got serious.

“Yes I was just a kid the last I saw her. She have done some work for my parents a couple of times, she was a really good person.” He told me.

“Did you know I was her daughter, is that why you came in the coffee shop?” Did he know about my mother death this entire time?

“I had no idea who was your mother until Sam told me her name. I wanted to tell you, but I wanted to wait for the right time.” That’s what they were talking about that day.

“How did you know about the power at age ten?” Did Sam tell him that too?

“Well Sam told me and when I went back home I asked the witch in our town about it she confirmed it. She also told me once you put on the jewelry your mother or teacher gives you the aura will be fully released.” My mother haven’t given me any jewelry, well except earrings.

“So it’s Sam hiding things from me?” he could of told me about this on my eighteen birthday.

“He was protecting you Annayees” Lizandro grabbed my chin and pulled me in for a kiss. I kissed him and smiled at him. I turned and got out of the shower.

“That was rude” Lizandro said. I chuckled.

“It’s not going to happen today.” I wrapped a towel on me and walked out of the bathroom. I quickly put on my clothes, I don’t want him trying to get lucky. I wish I had a brush, I put my hair into a bun and walk back into the bathroom hoping there is complementary lotion. As I walk back in Lizandro was coming out.

“We can stop and buy you clothes?” He ask me.

“No it’s fine we can get my clothes from Jessica house before we leave.” I have clothes I don’t need new clothes.

“O.K. Let me get dress and check out then we can go see your lawyer.” I’m getting nervous.

“Whenever you’re ready sunshine, just wait on you” I tell him sarcastically. He chuckles and smacks my butt.

“Ouch! A-hole” I tell him.

“Get use to it baby, I can get a little rough” he winks at me. I blush, damn that man can drive me crazy. I look away because I don’t want him seeing me blush. As I finish in the bathroom and put my shoes on, I waited until Lizandro came back from checking out. My phone rings... it’s my dad.. I should answer I’ll probably won’t see him for a while.

“Yes father” I answered.

“You finally answered me, I miss my little girl” he tells me.

“You mean you miss my money, why didn’t you tell me about this box my mother left me?” I ask him. I want to know why he kept it from me?

“It wasn’t important at the time, your school was more important” I didn’t think it was possible to recent him more.

“So by keeping me focused on school, you sneaked and took my money?” I am about to hang up.

“Look I called to apologize... I should of done what I did. I know I am not the greatest father..” it’s too late to apologize father.

“I have things to do today so can to tell the real reason why you called?” Lizandro walks in I’m still talking to my dad.

“I called because I am still leaving town with Stephanie and I wanted to ask you one more time before I leave town soon. I promise I’ll keep your phone service on.” Why does he think I’ll leave with him.

“No I am done living with you, it’s time for me to live on my own. I hope you have a happy life, and maybe someday we’ll see each other again” I told my father. I don’t think I want to talk to him anymore.

“Why are you saying it like that? You’re my daughter and I am your father. You can’t get rid of that easy.” He kept going when I decided to hang up. I didn’t even bother to tell him goodbye. My dad tried calling back, I ignored it. Lizandro comes up to me with a worry look on his face.

“I’m fine, can we go now?” I tell him in a soft voice.

“Come in gorgeous let’s go.” He hugged me tight before walking me out the door to the elevator. We walked out the hotel into his car and drove off. Lizandro reached over his hand to hold mine.

“Are you ready to leave this town?” he asked me.

“I was ready to leave at age eighteen.” I told him, which was the truth I wanted to leave this town. I wanted to leave my father.

“Damn I should have started business here five years ago, I would of taken you away a lot sooner.” he tells me, he pulled my hands to his lips and kiss it. He just made my whole body heat up for want with one innocent kiss. We pull up the lawyer office. And I wan for him to open my door, he help me out.

“You learn quick” he tells me hold my waist.

“Well I didn’t want to hurt your ego by letting myself out.” I joke with him. Before walking into the lawyers office he kissed me on my forehead.

“Are you ready?” He asked me.

“Yes, thank you for coming with me.” He didn’t have to join me but he did.

“Anything for the love of my life.” He winked at me and open the door to let me in. He made me blush again.. We walked in and the receptionist greeted us, her eyes wouldn’t leave Lizandro. I was getting a little jealous, but Lizandro wouldn’t pay attention to her. He never let go of me either, so I wasn’t that worried. The receptionist told us we can go to the Adams office. Lizandro open the door and let me in.

“How you doing Annayees?” Adam asked me, all of the sudden I felt Lizandro grabbed my waist tightly. Ah he’s getting jealous.

“I am great Adam, this is my boyfriend Lizandro.” I turned to Lizandro to see his reaction, he had the biggest smile on his face. I had to reassure him he’s the only one for me some how, without basically making out right here. They shook hands and Adam motioned for us to sit down.

“I have to make this quick Adam, I am leaving town. Can you settle the case without me being present for a while? I just want the box.” I trying to make this quick I am anxious to see what my mother left me.

“There might be some times you might have to be here, but we’ll discuss that later. Let’s get you that box.” He got up from his desk and walked around he motioned us to head out the door down through the hall. Adam open a door and let us in. He unlocked a secured drawer and pulled it out onto the table. The box was a size of a shoe box.

“I’ll leave you alone, I’ll call you next week Annayees. Have a safe trip! Lizandro it was nice to meet you” We said our goodbyes and Adam left the room. I stared at the box for a while.

“Are you going to open it now?” Lizandro asked me. I have to open it now. I sit down and grabbed the box, I set it in front of me. I open it. There was letters addressed to me there was her old rings, there was a CD looked like a video. And then there was a small jewelry box. It was heavy like the jewelry box was made handmade. I picked up the box and I felt electric throughout my body, I hesitated to open it but I have to. I open the box, inside was a small card and a beautiful necklace. It’s silver with a good size oval of a ruby with three ora sapphire above the ruby. The sapphire looked like a crown above the ruby. I picked up the card and it read.

My dearest daughter, this is the necklace of my mother your grandmother the Phoenix Eye. This necklace has been in our family for decades. Been passed down witch to witch... Once you put on this necklace your destiny will come to you. I will see you soon, believe in yourself.

I am very confused, “I will see you soon”... what that’s suppose to mean? Lizandro is watching me pick up the necklace. I put it on, once I put it on I felt this strong wind blow right at me. I see bright light coming from the center of the necklace, I feel my body and spirit get stronger. It only happens for a few seconds, I just sit there still waiting for something else to happen.

“That must be the jewelry the witch was talking about. How you feel Annayees?” Lizandro asked me.

“I feel powerful, I feel more alive.” I got up from my chair and stood in front of Lizandro. He looked at me, he got closer and lift my head so I can make eye contact. He looked into my eyes for a second.

“Come on we have to get your stuff and go. I just received word that Alexis is in his way here.” After he told me that I grabbed the box with everything inside of it and followed Lizandro out the door. We got into the car and drove off to Jessica house. It didn’t take long to get there, I see Jessica is home also. I walked into the house and Lizandro followed me in. Jessica was there waiting for me.

“Are you O.K.? I noticed my car still at the club, did something happen? I wasn’t going to tell her what happened.

“Everything is fine, Lizandro found met me at the club and picked me up and I stayed with him last night. I actually came here for my stuff, I have decided to leave town for a little bit. I promise I’ll make it in time for your wedding!” I noticed Jessica get a little sad but I know she understands. She smiled at me and reached in for a hug.

“I understand, please text me every single day until you get back to town.” I agreed to he demands and hugged her tight. I gave her the car keys and she left, she was on her way to work. I went into the room I was staying in and packed all my stuff, not all of it just enough to survive three weeks or so. Lizandro grabbed my bags and head out the door before me, I looked one more time at the house I felt like home in. As I walk out I decided to put a protective spell in the house and Jessica.

“I call upon and invoke the protective energies of the universe, let no harm come to this house or the person who lives here. Let her be free of all pains and rise above fear. Grant this upon thee. Shall it be!” After I was done chanting there was an yellow electric bolt came out my finger when I pointed at the house. I felt free, comfortable, and powerful. I got into the car and waited for Lizandro to get in. Once he did.

“Are you ready? Did you do a protection spell?” He saw me do it?

“Yeah ready and yes it just came to me, I had to do it. I need to make sure she is protective when I’m not here.” I have no idea where that came from.

“You were born to be one powerful witch like your mother. You don’t want to see anyone else before we leave?” Lizandro asked me.

“No let’s just go” I don’t want to see anyone else I am ready to leave. I see the sign that said now leaving, I got super excited. I’m finally leaving this town, unfortunately it’s because I am in danger. But I am leaving, Lizandro reached over and squeezed my hand and winked at me. What is this new town going to bring me.. Happiness, danger, sadness, or an adventure?...
