Monday morning arrived with sunlight far too bright for Sophia’s soul. She marched into the operations wing armed with coffee, lip gloss, and a determination to avoid all species of irritating men. When she checked the morning briefing, her eyes widened. Christoph Richter had flown back to Manila.And within the week, he would fly to Germany for “family obligations.” Sophia sagged with a relief so dramatic that Dominic placed a hand on her forehead to check if she was feverish. “You good, girl?” he asked. “I am excellent,” she replied cheerfully. “The universe loves me again.” They resumed their morning rounds until they spotted Olivia at the concierge counter going over reports. Olivia greeted them with her usual soft smile. “Good morning.” Dominic leaned forward conspiratorially.
