Brutal betrayal

Charlotte's POV
I felt like I was in a trance. No, like, I was having a bad dream.
No this can't be true!I screamed in my head. Mabel would never betray me by saying such a thing. I felt like the devil was trying to deceive me. To ruin my happy day.
"You know I'm only getting married to her just to take her father's property and title. After the marriage, I will reject her after having a good plan to make the divorce worth it."
I stood there perplexed, as I heard what my soon to be husband said. I was seeing figures that were not realistic. It was as if I was teleported into a place where I was being tricked with the voices of the people I love.
"I know but I can't watch you sleep with that girl. I can't."
The disgust I heard in Mabel's voice did not only break my heart. It shattered it. The only person I had relied on had said those words to me.
"Do you think I want to? I hate her like a piece of trash. If not for what I wanted from her, I would never talk to her,"he spat.
"She deserves all that she got. I also hate her so much. She's such a pretender. She would pretend to like you just so that she can trample you underfoot. My father is far older than her father but because she's the Alpha's daughter, I have to follow her around like a dog. I even have to protect her with my own body. No wonder the moon goddess made her so weak and never gave her a wolf. She must have punished her by not giving her good health. This I won't let happen anymore. I've been her dog for too long and now it's my turn for revenge!"
"We are the winner here!"Anthony said and the two bursted into laughter.
I felt so dizzy that I had to grab the wall. I couldn't believe what I heard. I pinched myself so hard that pain ran through my brain before I could believe that I wasn't in a dream.
How could Mabel do this to me?
I have never for once thought Mabel as anything less than a sister. I had given her everything I've got. Her father was an alcoholic and a gambler. He wouldn't even care for her but I wouldn't stop crying to my parents to take care of Mabel as their daughter. Yet she paid me with such evil.
Yes I was weak and always down with sickness but that doesn't mean I would let them do this to me.
I wasn't going to let them go scott free. I would take away everything I've given to them. I opened the door to the main room and the two jumped up.
Mabel quickly hid herself behind Anthony.
"Princess, it's not what you think,"Anthony said quickly.
I looked at the two of them and the name princess disgusted me.
"Do not call me that!"I growled.
"Charlotte, I can explain. I swear, Mabel and I had too much to drink. We didn't even know how we got here,"he pleaded.
I didn't know if he thought of me as a fool. None of them looked drunk.
"I'm cancelling the wedding!"I said firmly.
I was in so much pain because I had been too happy. This would be a big disgrace for me if anyone heard that my mate slept with the one I called my sister. The one I proclaimed to be the only one I trust. I had ignored so many people because they wouldn't want to associate with Mabel. Then she turned her back on me and gave me the deepest cut of my life.
"You can't do that Charlotte. It's your dream wedding. Please forgive me, it was a mistake,"Mabel had the nerve to talk.
I glared at her and I walked out. They couldn't run after me immediately because they were naked. I ran with tears flowing down my eyes. My face was wet with tears and I screamed so loud. The guards around looked at me and were shocked.
"Princess, is everything alright?"One of them asked with so much confusion.
Why won't he be confused? That day was my supposed wedding and I was in the middle of the house weeping terribly.
"Summon everyone!"I shouted.
Soon everyone was gathered. Even Mabel and Anthony were already there. Anthony was trying to talk things out with me but I wasn't listening to him.
"What's wrong Princess?"One of the elders asked.
"I'm calling off the wedding!"I said crying.
Everyone was so shocked that gasps were flying all over the room. Murmuring followed suit.
"What's wrong?"
I didn't reply to them. I ran to the room where my wedding dress was hanging and I pulled it from its hanger. Took a scissors and ran back outside. Right in front of everyone, I ripped off the wedding dress. With that they can't force me to marry.
Mabel tried to stop me but I pushed her away. I threw the wedding dress away and started crying. Everyone was confused.
"I revoked back the Alphadom that I gave to Anthony Weston! He would no longer be the king of this land!"I said in vexation.
Another wave of shock whirled around the room and there was silence. I looked at Anthony. I wanted to see him sad that his plan to ruin me has failed. But, I was shocked when I saw the smile on his face. He wasn't only smiling, it was a smirk. A one that showed that he dared me to.
I looked at Mabel and saw that she also had a smile on her lips. They must be cooking something
I wanted to talk but the elders that were around stopped me. They then said we should all go to the meeting room and not discuss things in front of the members. One of the elders didn't allow Mabel to go with us and I was glad because she disgusted me.
"Princess, can you calm down and explain what happened to us?" Elder Zin said.
Seeing that they were looking at me like a child, I wished that I wasn't called princess. I wished I wasn't weak and I was called the alpha. It would have been a different case.
"I want to revoke the title I gave to Anthony!"I spat.
I wasn't going to change my mind. Anthony and Mabel had betrayed me. I thought I was living among friends, but I was just too blinded by my weak heart.
"Maybe in your next life Charlotte,"Anthony said with a firm voice.
