Charlotte's POV
I wondered why she had such a look. I wasn't looking disgusting. I expected Ryker to reply to her but he ignored her and looked at the other woman standing beside her. I tried to guess her job but I couldn't. Her clothes were formal, she looked like a business woman.
"Gwen, this is Charlotte. From now on, you are to take care of her needs. You are assigned personally to her," Ryker said firmly.
I looked at him shocked and speechless. I wasn't expected to be treated like that since I was married off like a slave.
"Your majesty, you can't assign Gwen to her. Gwen only answers to you. Who is this woman that you are relegating Gwen's position," the beautiful woman protested.
When I heard that, I looked at Gwen but she didn't look sad. Rather she was smiling at me and I became more scared. Well, I was brutally betrayed by people who showed me their white teeth everyday. So smiling at me, gives me more awareness of betrayal.
"Let me take you to your room," Ryker said.
He took my hand and pulled me into the building. I couldn't be more wowed. Well I love art and paintings. The building was filled with one. Pictures of Ryker were also flying around and I liked that.
I wondered if the man ever smiled. We headed upstairs and we were followed. Just as he was about to open a door, that woman spoke again.
"Your majesty, what are you doing? I thought that room was prohibited for anyone to enter. Or have you forgotten your own words? Why are you putting a stranger there!" Her voice was restless and it showed anger.
Ryker didn't reply to her nor did he stop. He opened the door and we entered. That man was so mean. How could he ignore that woman without explaining anything to her. I wondered how those around him were coping.
Entering the room, it was really beautiful. It was as if I had entered into the world of comics. It was just like a room prepared for Barbie. While I was a princess, I would have screamed at the sight of it but then I didn't. Somehow irritation grew inside of me. Although the room looked new, it also gave the vibe that someone had been living in the room. Then I looked at the wall and I saw a big painting of a very beautiful woman on the wall. It wasn't looking like art like the rest. It looked real.
"This would be your room from this moment. And until Gwen comes to change everything in the room, do not touch anything inside this room. Not even a pin," Ryker said firmly.
" No!" I shouted.
I didn't know when I said that and I looked a bit scared.
"No?" He asked with a very cold look.
"I will ignore the fact that you married me forcefully but I won't ignore you putting me in another woman's room," I said in anger.
It seemed like my mouth had the brain of its own because I knew defiling that brute was like me signing my own death certificate.
"You won't?" He asked.
Was that a smirk I saw on his face? No it couldn't be. I shook my head to see if I was the one hallucinating. When I looked at him, his face was plain.
"Yes. I don't want this room. I'm not a kid who wants such a room. You better get me another room!" I said authoritatively.
I don't even speak to my father's maids like this. Why would I say such a thing to this man? The devil that wanted me dead, isn't relenting.
Ryker folded his arms and then started moving closer to me. His steps were slow. He was taking them one after the other while looking into my eyes. I became so scared knowing that I had passed my boundaries. I moved back in fear but he grabbed me. Looking down at me.
"I will move you to my room, then we can start our honeymoon right away," His thick voice ran through my body and it made it tingle.
How could his voice be so pleasing to the ears? It's definitely a trap!
"No! I'll stay here!" I shouted.
My heart was racing as I looked at him. Honeymoon! I don't want to die before my time.
"Fine. Gwen will bring you clothes to change in. I repeat don't be so foolish to touch anything here," he warned before he left without looking back.
A sigh escaped my mouth when he left. It was as if I was suffocating when he was around. I looked around the room and knew even though it was a beauty, I don't belong here. I need to return to my father's kingdom to avenge what Anthony had done to me. I won't let Anthony inherit my father's hard work.
I sat down and started thinking. The only way I could achieve my dream was to get out of this place. I am the queen of my land, I might be weak and always down with sickness, I'm still the heir of my father.
Then a thought came to my mind.
"If I don't bow to Ryker, if I provoke him and make him hate me. He might divorce me and I will be free to return to my house," I said to myself.
I was quite happy with my plan so I looked around to start my mission. That was when Gwen walked in.
"Ma'am, here's your dress for dinner," she said with a smile.
I wondered if that smile was the shape of her face. I looked at the dress she brought. It was very beautiful but I had other plans in mind.
"Thank you," I said, returning her smile.
" His majesty asked me to change everything in this room. What would you prefer?"
She had a pen and a notepad with her but I wasn't ready to change anything.
"I don't need anything Gwen. I love the way the room is," I said as I walked to the well decorated wardrobe.
Gwen was following me. "Ma'am, you can't. It's enough that his majesty allowed you in the room. He asked me to change it all," she said with a pleading tone.
I was going to do more but I didn't want Gwen to know because she was going to persuade me not to.
"Okay, maybe tomorrow when I'm well rested," I said to dismiss her.
Gwen was happy with my reply and left. Normally, I wasn't interested in the dinner but because of the plan I had, I was actually excited.
I went to the bathroom and had a long bath. The bathroom was just the way I love it. I soaked myself in hot water and enjoyed it. When I came out, I looked at the dress lying on the bed. I ignored it and went to the wardrobe. I saw a lot of beautiful designer clothes and it got me excited. I actually love designers.
I picked one of the clothes and tried it on, then I saw that it was a perfect size and this made me more happy. After trying a few clothes, I decided to go with a short jean skirt with knee length block heels.
Making myself up with everything I found in the room. I even used her perfume. Looking at myself in the mirror, I was so satisfied. So I waited for Gwen to pick me up.
Gwen was so shocked when she came to pick me for dinner. She kept on begging me to change the dress but I didn't listen to her. I even refused to leave for dinner until I was about ten minutes late. I was satisfied with my actions and went outside.
Gwen kept her distance from me but I never cared. When I got to the dinner, it was a dinner with just five people seated and maids standing around. Everyone seated looked at me with their eyes wide open. I was sure because it was because of what I wore.
"You are ten minutes......." Ryker's words hung in his mouth when he saw me standing there.
There was this dangerous look that covered him. His eyes were large as if he had the intent to kill me. He growled at me.
"How dare you!"
