“It’s important to attend MARD meetings,” Vivek chided her. “That way, at least we get to know what’s going on.”
“And it’s important to express our solidarity and help to keep up the morale. How can morale be kept up if everyone goes home and no-one attends the meetings?” said Rahul, in a show of mock-severity. He was only half-joking. He felt very strongly about this, and he and Vivek had attended every MARD meeting. He didn’t know what Vivek’s reason for attending was, but he felt it his duty to attend. However, it was becoming clear to him that not too many people thought the same way, for the numbers were dwindling.
