I decided to take the first shift with Sam. Willow and Piper were drained beyond exhaustion and needed their rest. Everyone else settled down for the night (besides those taking shifts for patrols) while I sat on a chair beside Sam's bed. There were a few moments when I heard him grumble or try to speak in his sleep, but when I placed my hand on his arm to let him know that I was there for him, he settled back down again. I was left with strict times by Willow for pain meds and followed that to a T.
