Frederik’s hands trembled near the lake at the northern border of the Moondance Pack territory, his knuckles white from gripping them tightly. Each breath came out as a ragged gasp, his mind warring with the primal urge to let go. The air was thick with the scent of water and pine, a raw, primal aroma that echoed his untamed nature. Shadows danced along the forest floor, thrown into violent relief by the sporadic glow of Frederik’s skin as he tried to shift into his dragon form – something he hadn’t been able to do since that first shift.
