Chapter Eleven: Silent Strike

829 Words
Ava Sinclair moved like a shadow through the penthouse silent, precise, calculating. The city beyond the windows sparkled with midnight lights, unaware that a storm was about to hit its most powerful elite. She stood before a holographic screen displaying three companies: Blake Enterprise. Ethan’s empire Hartman Global Vanessa’s father’s company Kaine Industries Victor Kaine’s kingdom of corruption Tonight’s target shone in red. Hartman Global. Ava touched the screen, zooming in on confidential files she had painstakingly collected. Vanessa Hartman had always believed she was untouchable, shielded by her father’s wealth, connections, and a reputation polished by lies. But Ava knew the truth. She had seen the forged contracts. The siphoned funds. The illegal acquisitions masked as charity partnerships. And she knew her revenge couldn’t start with Ethan. Not yet. To break Ethan… She would first sever the people who protected him. And the Hartmans had been his most loyal allies. Tonight was the beginning. A soft ping echoed as Ava inserted a coded drive into her computer. The screen blinked, revealing a hidden interface one that only she and Liam Hart used. Liam’s voice came through her earpiece, low and focused. “Are you sure you want to start with the Hartmans?” Ava’s fingers danced across the keys. “Vanessa wanted to destroy me. Her father funded it. Let’s return the favor.” Liam exhaled. “Then let’s make it loud… without a sound.” Ava smiled. The perfect strike is silent until the world sees the wreckag. Inside his high-rise office, Richard Hartman Vanessa’s father poured himself a generous glass of whiskey. He was reviewing acquisition proposals when the screens around him suddenly flickered. He frowned. “Not now…” The lights dimmed. His computer rebooted without command. Every device in the room synced into a single interface he didn’t recognize. And then a single file appeared on the screen: "THE PRICE OF YOUR LIES." Hartman’s breath caught. “What the hell is this?” He clicked. Dozens no, hundreds of documents unfolded. Leaked financial statements. Illicit wire transfers. Evidence of bribery, corporate espionage, and offshore laundering. His face drained of color. “These files were destroyed… They were destroyed years ago…” A distorted female voice echoed through his speakers: “You buried evidence. But ashes rise.” Then the screen went black. Richard Hartman grabbed his phone with shaking hands. “Vanessa. Now. We have a problem A huge” The line cut. His entire network went dead. Not hacked. Overwritten. Someone had erased years of hidden crime in minutes. Someone who wanted him exposed… and terrified. Meanwhile Ava Watches the Collapse Begin. On her penthouse balcony, Ava leaned against the railing as the city hummed below. Her screens reflected across the glass doors behind her, showing the real-time chaos inside Hartman Global: Emergency meetings called Lawyers scrambling Servers shutting down Internal investigators panicking Liam’s voice crackled in her ear. “Ava… the audit department just went into crisis mode. Whatever you triggered, they think it’s a foreign attack.” Ava’s lips curved coldly. “Good. Let them drown in their own dirt.” Liam hesitated. “You know this will hit Ethan too, right? His partnership with Hartman Global is huge.” Ava’s jaw tightened. “Let it.” This was a warning shot to Vanessa, to Victor Kaine, to Ethan, to everyone who thought she had died with her dream. The phoenix was rising. Across the city, Vanessa stormed into her father’s mansion, heels clicking like bullets against marble. Her face was pale, furious, scared. “Dad! What is going on? Your office called” Richard dragged her inside, slamming the door. “Someone destroyed our entire internal archive! Years of files gone! Exposed!” Vanessa blinked. “Who would even” But she froze. Her father saw it. The shift in her expression. “What?” Richard demanded. “What do you know?” Vanessa swallowed. “…Ava.” Richard’s eyes widened. “Sinclair? That woman is dead.” Vanessa looked away. No. That woman was not dead. She had seen her. Heard her voice. Felt the chill of her return. “Dad,” Vanessa whispered, voice trembling. “She’s back.” Richard stared at her, fear finally settling into his bones. “Ava Sinclair wants to burn us all.” Ethan Feels the Shockwave Hours later, Ethan sat in his office, staring at an urgent notification one that made his entire board go silent. HARTMAN GLOBAL STOCK DROPPING INTERNAL CORRUPTION ALLEGATIONS EMERGING Daniel rushed in. “Ethan! Hartman Global is collapsing nobody knows how. Their servers crashed, documents leaked” But Ethan wasn’t listening. He was staring at the white rose still on his desk. Ava had been here. Again. And now Vanessa’s family was bleeding. A whisper escaped him barely audible: “Ava… what are you doing?” But deep down, he already knew. A storm was coming. Not loud. Not violent. Silent. Deadly. And aimed… directly at him
