Chapter two: When life gives you a chance try it

"Jane wake up, you have to help me iron my dress because I have science and mathematics classes and I want daddy to drop me on his way because the bus is always congested and I will have to stand."joy was telling Jane

"But you never told me yesterday you're going to school today,you science and mathematics classes are supposed to be on Friday and today is Wednesday joy, what going on with that school of yours?" Jane asked

"I don't know,mum today me the school sent them a message yesterday night telling them that Friday class have been removed and we will be have our classes today and mum saw the message in the morning." Joy explained

" Joy don't worry just take your time if you don't want to use the school bus I will drop you using dad motorbike, and wait for your classes to end then we will go with you to deliver onions and tomatoes at Njoki groceries shop, or what do you think?"Jane asked joy

"It's okay sis,but you have to help me iron my dress because I don't know how you iron it"joy said

"You should wear a jean trouser because we will be using the motorbike and I don't want you to be sick go and take you shower while I go and talk to dad before he leaves." Jane said

"Okay,love you sis" Joy said

Jane laughed and Went to the sitting room to meet her Dad.

Morning mum and daddy Jane greeted her parents.Morning princess both replied at the same time.Why are awake this early or are you going somewhere? Jane mother asked

"Yes mummy, I will be dropping joy at school at nine in the morning then deliver the onions and tomatoes at Njoki groceries after her classes because it's only two hours then we come back home together." Jane replied

But I wanted to pay William to deliver the onions and tomatoes Jane father said

"Don't worry dad I have nothing to do and instead of paying William,I can do it for you and I can use the motorbike dad." Jane replied

Ok princess, but you have to be careful and I know see the reason why when you're in school joy is always saying she Misses you very much because you like making things easier for her, Jane father said

"I love them dad and I'm the first born so I'm like their second parent."Jane replied

"Bye dad ,Mum I'll go freshen up then came have breakfast with the others "Jane said

Okay princess, Jane parents replied

Jane went back to her bedroom and started preparing the clothes she will be wearing.She started thinking and decided to text Jason (jay)so their can meet and talk while waiting for joy to finish her lessons since Jason lived near Eastbrook academy where joy was studying.

Jane: hey Jason are you free today so that we can meet at smile cafe near Eastbrook academy since I will be waiting for my sister to finish her classes?

Jane waited for the reply but it's seemed Jason was still sleeping and she decided to go and take a shower first.

When Jason wake up and took his phone to check the time he was surprised to see Jane message because Jane have been avoiding him and even not replying to his text and he was happy and decided to read the message.

Jason:hey Jane ,what time do you want us to meet?

When Jane finished preparing herself and was going to the living room to have her breakfast she saw Jason message and decided to reply

Jane:From 9:00am to maybe 11.00am

Jason:Ok,I will meet you there,take care.

Jane: Thanks

Jane went and greeted her siblings and started taking her breakfast,when they finished Jane washed the dishes because she never wanted her mother to be tried since her sister and brother could not wash the dishes."joy take your books and find me in the garage ."Jane told her sister.She hugged her mummy, Angel and her brother and took the motorbike key and went towards the garage. Joy came and sat next to Jane and wore the helmet and their started their journey towards Eastbrook Academy.After twenty minutes the two sisters where in school.Jane packed the motorbike in the school garage hugged her sister and told her she'll be there before 11:00 am and crossed the road towards smile cafe.

She ordered coffee and started scrolling her phone while waiting for Jason to arrive.When Jason arrived he saw Jane sitting at the window in the corner looking her phone.He was nervous because he feared rejection and also didn't know what to do because he had not talked to his sister mercy asking for advice.But he decided to act cool and express himself.He walked towards Janes direction with confidence in himself.

Jason: hello, I'm here

Jane: sorry,I never noticed you entering the cafe maybe I was concentrating with my phone.

Jason: Can I at least get a hug you know, it's was a long time since we met.

Jane: why not

Jane stood from her sit and hugged Jason, Jason was surprised to be hugged by her because he was expecting her to refuse.

Jason: Do you want anything Jane .

Jane : No I'm with the coffee

Jason: okay,how is school and everything Jane?

Jane: school is fine and always everything is fine now .How is Mercy it's has been long since I last saw? I was at your neighborhood last week and I asked Damian about her and he told me she's not at home now.

Jason: She fine and she came home on Monday,So you came to our neighborhood and you only asked for Mercy but not me, you couldn't even came to our house and say hi to me since I am always the only one at home since mum and dad are always at work ?

Jane: I was just delivering tomatoes to you neighbors when I met Damain and I asked him about mercy because he told me he was coming to your place,but next time I will pass by and say hi to you.

Jason: Okay,hope you will remember that.After your sister finish classes will you be going home?

Jane: no, we will be delivering some thing to a certain grocery at the junction then head home.

Jason: ok

Jane: you have been looking for me lately I am all yours now you can tell me what you have been wanting to tell me.

Jason: I just have a confession I wanna make but please don't overreact, promise me you will be calm.

Jane was shocked to hear the word confession but she never wanted to show her reaction.She was lost in her though thinking what kind of a confession does Jason was make to her but she decided to agree

Jane: ok ,you can go ahead with the confession,am ready to hear now .

Jason:I’ve been wanting to talk to you about something that’s been on my mind for a while. Over the time we’ve spent together, I’ve come to realize how much you mean to me. You’re not just an incredible friend, but someone I genuinely care for deeply.

I’ve found myself thinking about you more and more, and I’ve realized that I’ve fallen for you. I truly value our friendship, and I wouldn’t want anything to change that unless you feel the same way. But I couldn’t keep these feelings to myself anymore.

I’d really like to take things a step further and see if we could be more than just friends. Would you consider being my girlfriend? I completely understand if you need time to think about it, or if you don’t feel the same way. Whatever happens, our friendship is still so important to me.

Jane was shocked because she was not expecting Jason to confess his feelings towards her but she still felt happy but never wanted to show it because Jason was looking at her as if trying to read her mind.

Jane: Wow, that was really sweet and took a lot of courage. I have to admit, I’ve been feeling the same way. The more time we spend together, the more I realize how special you are to me. I’ve been thinking about this too, and I’d love to see where things could go between us. So yes, I’d love to be your girlfriend Mr Jason.

Jason was very happy, he hugged her and kisses her on the forehead
