Different.

After the nurse came to assess me and signed me off to leave, I got myself up and into the bathroom. Staring at the mirror, I felt my reflection seemed different somehow. It was a strange feeling, as I could see it was clearly just me. My skin seemed smoother, my eyes seemed brighter and my hair a little longer. Was I only out for a few hours? My wolf purred at our reflection as flecks of gold appeared in my irises, even the gold looked more vibrant. Shaking off the idea that I could possibly have changed in a few hours, I washed my face and used the toilet. I kept looking back at the mirror though, I couldn’t help but look at myself. It was strange. As I was washing my hands, I found my gaze locked with the mirror and began to lose myself in my reflection. *knock knock knock* The interruption brought me back down to earth and a whipped my head to the door. “Accalia? You done yet?” Father called out. Drying my hands, I hurried to the door, opening it quickly. “Yes dad, sorry. Just wanted to make sure I was clean.” He c****d his head to the side, looking at me with a weird squint. “Are you ok? You look... different..” Huh, guess he sees it too. I shrugged and headed for the door to the corridor. “I’m fine dad, come on, I want to see Apollo.” He sighed and nodded his head, stepping in front of me and leading the way to Apollo. When we arrived at his room, I was shocked by what I saw. There in the pristine white room was my brother, still red and blotchy, radiating small waves of pain. They hurt him so badly with the silver that he was still suffering hours later! A growl escaped my lips and I wished I had killed the bastards. Father placed his hand on my shoulder, calming me a little. I glanced up at him and he gave me such a painfully loving look, that I had to look away. I took a breath and walked towards Apollo, sitting in the chair beside him. I felt so much pain for him, the ache in my heart was severe. I hated this! How could my brother, one of the strongest wolves I know, be affected so badly!? I timidly reached out and held his hand, feeling the warmth emanating from his body. His wolf was working hard to help him heal and I love him all the more for it. My own wolf whined in the back of my mind, crying out for her brother too. Guessing his wolf wasn’t looking great either. I gently squeezed his hand, reassuring him that I was here. I didn’t expect any response but his finger twitched against my hand. I looked back and forth from his hand to his face, hoping to see his eyes flutter open. But they didn’t. At least his alive and with all the fluid lines plugged into him, I’m sure he will be fine. He has to be. I can’t do this without him. Father had moved behind me and rested his hand on my shoulder again, “Come on princess, let get some food in you. Got to rebuild your strength now.” I sighed and squeezes Apollo’s hand again, no response this time, before letting go and standing beside my father. I think he expected me to cry but I didn’t have the energy to release them. I had to be strong for both of us now and I sure as hell wasnt going to cry about it. He will be back to normal by the evening. “Ok, let’s go.” ———————————————————- Cronos POV She looks different. I can’t place my finger on it but something has changed in my little girl. She seems prettier and the power radiating off her is definitely stronger. It’s so strange and it sure as hell scares me. Maybe it’s a good thing. Maybe it’s a sign that she will be chosen as the Alpha tonight. Maybe the moon goddess is showing us that she is ready. Maybe, maybe, maybe. I hate this!!!! Speculation and uncertainty are just not Alpha emotions and I certainly don’t know how to deal with them. I noticed the change when she stepped out the bathroom and it confused me that I didn’t see it beforehand. Magic bathroom? Don’t talk nonsense! But still, watching her now with Apollo and seeing the different emotions radiating off of her, I sensed a big change was coming and I don’t mean the coronation. I watched as she looked back and forth from his hand to his face, waiting for him to wake up. He was far too weak for that just yet, so I decided we best get her fed and rested. Being here was making her agitated, even if she didn’t know it and we needed her to get her strength back. I walked up behind her and tapped her shoulder. “Come on princess, let get some food in you. Got to rebuild your strength now.” She hated when I called her that but in my eyes, she will always be my princess, my little warrior and my pup. She seemed to sigh to herself but soon got up and agreed to leave. I glanced back at Apollo, my little prince, my warrior too. Stay strong son, keep fighting. We will be back soon. Leading her out the room and back towards the packhouse, my thoughts ran wild with worry. Would he be ok? Would he recover in time for the coronation? Would she be strong enough without him? Would I? Stupid rogues! I hope Xerxes got some answers out of the bastards! Otherwise, they will never leave the dungeons. Dead or Alive.
