He was gone … I pulled my blade out of his body and stared at him … It was finally over. Silence fell over the battlefield before a cry rang through the air. I felt a pair of strong arms grab hold of me and I realized that my cheeks were wet. Why were they … Did I get blood on my face? Was I injured?
“It’s okay,” Theodore’s eyes made contact with mine and his thumbs wiped my cheeks. “It’s over. It’s all over, okay?” I looked at the body on the ground behind Theodore and then at the battle ground. If any demons survived this attack, they must have escaped because there were none of them around.
