The entire diner fell silent. Conversations stopped mid-sentence, and the diners began stealing nervous glances in our direction. It was obvious that he was furious, looking for trouble. Gavin ignored every stare and strode straight toward me. He crossed the hall in quick, heavy strides, and the tension rose with every step.
