His promise didn't even last 1 day. Abigail followed him to my hometown the next morning. The two of them ran into each other at the end of the street outside my house. Her eyes red from crying, Abigail threw herself into his arms. As always, Abigail knew exactly how to get what she wanted from him. Within minutes, she had persuaded the man who'd chased me all the way home to return to Portwell with her. She kept posting updates to her feed the entire way, though I had no idea who she was trying to convince. The last thing I saw was a photo of them boarding a plane together.
