Chapter 5 Bonding and Partying

Banquets that are given in Sunset Cove start out informational, but they the most beautiful, fun, and bonding party you’ve ever been to in your life. Partying is what this crowd does best they use it so often to unwind. They have so little time off.

Johnathon and Bridget were putting down the finishing touches. Lavender rose petals covered the tables. A champagne glass was set at each setting along with chocolates and other goodies. A colorful brochure was set at each table setting. It explains the times and a little History on the island and all its specialties. It helps to show you how things are done on that island and all the island itself has to offer, not only to you, but also to it people and their heritage and way of life that may be different than yours.

The lead tables are marked for royalty. These men and women have been hand-picked with lots of skills in their department. Tonight will be memorable to all the main staff has it planned for brilliance.

Also, the team tables have been marked. If you found your name on the list. You are to set with the team you have been assigned. A-F you will find your spots there and I promise it will be more than you bargained for. Mingling together makes these teams great. You get to know each other a little before your training begins.

These were on all the lead tables, Bosses tables, and at the team tables coated in plastic and waiting on them. Their new badges. They earned them. They were placed statically on the tables in the place they were meant to sit. Next to their partner. They will have each other’s backs out there when it gets tough. If it gets too tough for the two of them then there is one left to run and get help if needed.

Shawna glanced quickly in the mirror, “Well girl that’s as good as it gets.” She said to her reflection. She had no doubts about herself she was good looking and she knew it too. She would never settle for second best not in herself or her work. She was very confident and that is what has gotten her this far.

She still couldn’t believe Kiara had decided on a dramatic change in her hair. She was so excited about the ball and getting to show off her new doo. It did look different and it made her look amazing.

When she got the call from Bridget it kind of changed her plans last minute, but she was able to comply and it’s going to be wonderful she’s never gotten to do anything like this before not even close.

She ran her fingers through her long thick hair and took one more look in the mirror. Her dress was really stunning. She grabbed her purse, keys, and slipped on her heels and out the door she went.

As Juliann walked into the ballroom she could see the waterfalls built in the corners. A fountain covered a large portion of the middle of the room. The lights inside were a vision of beauty. The changing of the colors made the water appear purple, red, and pink, orange, yellow. The colors reminded her of the flowers back home. She too like Shawna was from a small town in Oklahoma. Home seemed so far away right now. She wasn’t going to cry or break down she promised herself not tonight. After all this was her dream and she was living it. She wasn’t going to let a little homesickness get in-between her and what she wanted out of life. Escaping that little one horse town. Where everyone knows everyone else and it is total chaos constantly. He said, she said, and nobody’s talking at all. “Go figure. Right”? She was just ready to leave that mess and drama before it drove her completely insane. Now was her chance a road unknown and way the hell out of town.

Kiara was next to arrive. Her hair was cut so short she was hardly recognizable. She was a beauty, though, standing 5’8” right around 130 pounds of sheer muscle. She looked like she had legs that could go on forever. She had got a neck line cut. That part of the hair was

Straight. Her bangs were cut chin length, straight, and to the side. All of that was colored a bright red, which by the way, made her blue eyes pop. The back was spiked like a porcupine. It was almost a white blonde in shading. The girl at the shop did an excellent job. She did the cut and dye both earlier that day. It made her look sophisticated. It was the one thing she never had been known for before. At least until now!

In walked Shawna. Now they were all three there. Bridget walked up to them to hurry them along before those doors open. “We want this to be elegant yet just romantic enough to get the ball rolling with dancing, romancing, and fun. Most of all fun. This isle has been known to possess mystic power. If you believe enough, reach a little farther, and help each other when needed. You will see all your dreams come to pass. Wish it, moat it, and so it shall be!” Bridget kept talking as they took their positions at wonderland.

“I feel like a princess,” Juliann spoke aloud.

“I know,” replied Kiara. “I never thought this lifeguard program would be this cool. Did you?”

“No I didn’t expect it to be anything like this. I figured it would be all business. No playtime. Didn’t you”? Juliann said looking over at Shawna.

“No I didn’t, but it is just the beginning. However, you’re right I didn’t expect it to be this extravagant. I know I’m going to love it here, but do you guys really think that we are ready for all this? What I guess I’m really asking is do you think we can do this?”

Shawna asked with a worried look on her face.

Sure we can if they believe in us. Put a little faith into us. We’ve got this Together. As long as we are there for each other I don’t think there is anything we can’t accomplish. With a little extra effort and making ourselves sisters of the isle.

“Oh I like the sound of that.”

They rose their hands in the air and clasping each other’s. “TO US!”

The guys arrived much earlier than the girls making sure everything was perfect for them.

“I want us to be the best leaders this isle has ever seen.” Devin said suddenly.

“So how do you suppose we pull that one off? Do you have some kind of elaborate scheme going on up there in that head of yours?” Conner sounded truly interested in his master plan.

“Maybe I don’t think it will be impossible. With hard work and getting close to the teams that are under us our teams. I think 2019 could be our year. Even the girls to their also leaders on our team and then we have the teams that are under them. I say the six of us get

Together and rock this little island. Let’s give them something to talk about…How good we all are.

“Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, that’s it they’ll never know what hit them!” Conner replied. Raising his hand in the air for a high-five. The guys smacked hands but they knew they had a lot of work cut out for them.

Shawn already feeling like he was on a roller coaster ride. Since he first laid eyes on Bridget. He couldn’t think of anything else. How pretty she looked, how lovely her voice is, and when will be the next time he laid eyes on her gorgeous body. Okay, Okay enough already…he thought in his head. It’ll be easy we’re all good looking guys that are going to wine them, dine them, and dance them off their feet.

Loud music that had started and was pouring though the speakers broke his chain of thought. All he could think of after that was “Thank God.”
