Found

Alexander "It’s been three months! Where could they have taken her!?" Crispin asked, anger and frustration radiating in his voice. "We are searching the area, Crispin. We will find her." I said with confidence I wasn't sure I felt anymore. Sitting at my desk, I searched the map we had been using to map out the area we had already searched for Morgan. So far, the only thing that we have turned up were survivors of the attack that managed to get to cover in time and a few rogues that were searching for them. Granted, I was glad we found survivors, but so far, we have had no luck finding any trace of the alpha's daughter. Our trackers were able to find the tree Tory hid in and the place Morgan had fought the rouges, but her sent disappeared from that point. The rouges we captured are currently in the cells being questioned, but no amount of torture has resulted in any answers. As I looked at the map, I searched over the areas marked as searched, hoping there was something we missed, and struggled to hide my growing frustration at not finding any sign of her all this time. Where would they have taken her? We know they had to keep her close, they would have had to cross over our boundary lines on three sides or a neighboring pack's territory and they were on high alert. The chances of getting past us were slim, but at this point I’m starting to wonder if we somehow managed to miss something. At the sound of shuffling, I looked up in time to see Tory coming through the door. She looks miserable, not that I blame her with her entire family either gone or missing. Her eyes had purple bruises under them showing a lack of sleep and it was obvious she had lost weight these past months. Crispin reaches out to her and enfolds her in his arms in an effort to comfort her. "Have you found anything?" She asks while pressing her face to Crispin’s chest and trying to hold in her tears. "No love, but we are still searching. We will find her. I promise we won’t stop looking." Crispin says, closing his eyes, knowing it's not what she wants to hear. "Come here Tory, I want to show you something." I said, motioning her towards my desk. "This is a map of the territory, all the areas marked in red are the ones we have searched. You know the area, do you see anything we might have missed or maybe somewhere you can think of where they could be keeping her?" I asked. I don't honestly think she will be able to help, but maybe letting her look will help her feel like she is doing something that can help. "Thank you" Crispin mouthed over Tory's head, knowing my reasoning behind my request. Nodding to him, stepping back, I let Tory get a closer look at the map. We sat there quietly talking for about an hour, all the while Tory sat staring at the map not moving or saying anything. "I've got it!" She yelled, standing up so fast she knocked the chair she was sitting on to the floor. "What?" Crispin, and I said at the same time as we moved to stand next to her. "Here!" she says excitedly. Looking down to see what she's pointing at, I frown, confused, she's pointing at a spot smack in the center of the map. "The lake?" I asked, not seeing what she was so excited about. There was nowhere they could keep her on the lake. "No, not just the lake! The waterfall! There is a cave behind that goes way back and has several different tunnels throughout it! My dad used to take us there when we were little! Morgan and I found it and got lost in there when I was 10, it took hours for Dad to find us!" she said excitedly. Raising my eyes to Crispin, I immediately told him to gather our pack warriors and get ready to leave. "You did great Tory, if she is there we will bring her back." I say patting her arm on my way out the door leaving her and Crispin alone. Shifting as we reach the edge of the trees, we head for the Full Moon Pack territory at a fast pace. Once we got near the lake, I stopped and turned to the wolves behind me. "I want everyone on full alert. If the rouges are here, we need to be quick and silent, we are here to get Morgan first, kill the rouges second. So be quiet, and trust your instincts." I mind linked the pack. "Yes Alpha!" they linked back. Nodding, I turned back to the lake, "let’s get this done", I said, and started for the edge of the woods. As we approached the edge of the lake, we caught the faint stench of rouge. motioning with my head, I sent the pack to spread out and hit from multiple points like they were trained to do. The fight was short but brutal. Bodies were littered across the ground behind us as we entered the cave behind the waterfalls. As alpha, I enter first, followed by Crispin and my gamma Jacob. Quickly we cleared the main part of the cave and moved in small groups through the tunnels looking for signs of Morgan. "In here Alpha" I hear through my mind link. Turning, Crispin, Jacob and I enter the tunnel and work our way towards the back. As we drew near, we heard shouting, a growl, and then a rattling sound like chains bouncing. There appeared to be a room carved out in the back of the tunnel with a makeshift door set up. I entered, followed by Crispin, then Jacob. Once we were fully in the room, we stopped, taking in our surroundings. There in the middle of the room is a woman crouched down in a fighting position. Behind her, in the corner, a man lay on the ground, his lifeless eyes staring at the ceiling and his neck was set at an awkward angle. Above him, chains hung from the ceiling. The woman let out a fierce growl, bringing my focus back to her. I’m not entirely sure how she is standing on her own. She was badly beaten, her right eye was nearly swollen shut, and blood dripped down her chin from her mouth and a cut on her forehead. The rest of her wasn't in any better shape, bruises and cuts covered almost every inch of her skin, and she was holding herself in such a way it appeared there was something wrong with her ribs. Closing my eyes, I shifted and put on the shorts Jacob passed me . Stepping forward, I said “You have nothing to fear from us, we're here to help", smiling, I glanced behind her at the body again. “Though it doesn't look like you need much." “Who are you?” she asks, her voice sounding rough like she hasn’t used it in a while. She straightens to a standing position, weaving slightly on her feet. "I am Alexander, Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack, your sister sent me" I said, reaching a hand out to her, hoping she would let me help her. "Tory? Is she ok? She asks, stumbling forward, obviously struggling to stay on her feet. Just as she got close enough for me to reach her, she stumbled, falling forward. Jumping towards her, I managed to catch her before she hit the ground. Sparks shot up my arms. I looked down and met her eyes for the first time and Jax, my wolf, howled in my head. “Mate!” we said at the same time. Scrunching her eyebrows, confused, she whispered "I don't feel anything" and passed out. What is that supposed to mean?
