"I'll wait downstairs while you call the bank," I told Gideon, watching him closely as he reached for his phone.
I didn't trust him for a second.
This man liked to wear the mask of a father, but underneath he was nothing more than a predator in a suit.
I headed straight for the elevator, half expecting him to vanish the moment I turned my back.
To my surprise, five minutes later he actually showed up.
He stepped into the elevator beside me with that same smug smile that always made my skin crawl.
