Reis's instincts saved him from the flying hammer that passed close to his ear and smashed into the doorframe with a sharp crack.
Splinters scattered across the damp concrete floor.
"Who the hell are you?" Alpha Gideon shouted.
His voice echoed through the empty storage room. His eyes moved between Reis and Aria's limp body, full of panic and rage.
"What gives you the right to take my daughter? Put her down now, or I'll call the Council. You'll be punished for stealing an Alpha's bloodline."
"Enough," Reis said. His voice was cold and final. He stepped closer, eyes locked on Gideon.
