CHAPTER SEVENTY -THREE My muscles coil tight and my breath comes in ragged gasps as I dodge another snapping jaw, the chaos of battle swirling around me. Claws tear at the earth, desperate for purchase as I launch myself forward, towards a rival shifter whose eyes gleam with malice. The taste of adrenaline is sharp on my tongue, metallic and invigorating. I can feel the thrum of my heart, the rush of blood in my veins, but amidst the cacophony of snarls and growls, something else stirs within me—a flicker of intuition that quickly fans into a vivid vision. It comes unbidden, a jolt of insight so intense it almost blinds me. I see him, the rival wolf, a dark shadow against the moonlit battlefield, lunging for my unprotected side with deadly precision.
