Edward walked in first and the ground was flat with countless vines crawling in every available space. He lifted his huge head to look at Melonie, gesturing to her to continue casting spells to subdue the lianas. Melonie appeared puzzled, she could not figure out what Edward was trying to say. Dorothy explained, "The whole ground we see before us is made out of vines and the real nest is under these very vines." Melonie suddenly realized what they meant. She waved her magic wand around and said the magic spell again, and then smoke slowly rose in the air. The vines in the cave quickly withdrew as soon as they encountered the thick fog, and then all the lianas fell to the space below the ground.
