“That is so sweet!” I was filled with warm, fuzzy feelings as I smiled at him.
“How are you feeling?” he asked.
“Better,” I replied with a twinge of guilt over my nonexistent illness.
“So, you’re staying at school?” he questioned.
“Oh, yeah, of course. I wasn’t sick enough to go home, and I’m fine now.”
He responded with a beautiful smile. “Good. I’m glad you’re better, and that I get to see you all day. I want to take you on a date after school if you’re up to it.”
“Again? We just went on a date the other day.”
“It wasn’t really a date since I forced you to go on it. This time I’m asking you out. I wanted to take you out this weekend, but I know you’ll be busy. So, will you go out with me today, Ella?”
