Aiden,!"
she shot to her feet.
The moment she saw Aris on the floor, she rushed to his side and instinctively stepped between them.
"What's wrong with you?"
She pushed Aiden away from Aris. Aiden's expression immediately hardened. Before she could react, he grabbed her by the hair. She cried out.
" Aiden, let me go, you're hurting me. "
He ignored her. He pushed her away from Aris and gestured towards the guard standing nearby.
"Take her to the car."
Three guards immediately approached. "No, let me go. "
She struggled against them, trying desperately to free herself, but they held her firmly and carried her towards the car. "Aris,"
she looked back. Aris was still on the floor, staring at her in shock.
"Aiden stop!" But Aiden didn't even look at her. He walked over to Aris and looked down at him coldly.
" Stay away from her."
His voice was quiet but threatening.
"You will never approach her again. Is that clear!".
Aris slowly looked up. Aiden turned away. By then the guards had already taken her to the car. She was placed inside, and before she could understand what was happening, they secured her to the seat with handcuffs.
" Let me go".
She struggled against them
" Please, let me go."
No one answered. The car door closed. A few moments later, Aiden entered the vehicle. She immediately turned towards him.
"Let me go"
He remained silent.
" Aiden, let me go." She struggled against the cuffs
The car began moving. She stared at him in disbelief.
"What did I even do? "
Nothing. He simply sat there. Her frustration finally boiled over.
"Ahhhhhhh" she screeched in frustration
"Why are you doing this to me?"
Still nothing. Then she saw his jaw tighten.
"You're not to be seen outside with another man again."
She stared at him.
"What? "
"You heard me, "
he turned towards her
" You don't leave with another man. You don't meet another man. You don't do anything without my permission."
She scoffed in disbelief
"Your permission?"
Aiden didn't respond. She shook her head.
"Why?"
Her voice trembled, but this time it wasn't from fear. It was anger.
" Why do I need your permission? "
She looked at her. She continued.
"You can sit beside Vivian."
His expression changed slightly.
"You can touch her, you can feed her, you can smile at her, you can do whatever you want with her. "
She swallowed hard.
"But I can't even have lunch with an old friend.?"
"WHY! WHY! WHY!"
Silence.
"How did that make sense?"
She stared directly at him.
"You don't get to decide who I can talk to while you do whatever you want. "
Her voice grew louder. "
I'm your wife, not your prisoner. "
Aiden's eyes narrowed. She didn't back down.
" For over a year, you have treated me like I don't exist. You won't come near me, you won't speak to me, you won't even look at me. You act as if I'm some germ on your clothes, or as if I'm some dirt in your life."
Her eyes began to sting, but she refused to cry.
"And now suddenly, because another man talks to me, actually pay attention to me, you want everything. You want to control everything I do."
She shook her head.
"No. "
She put against the cuffs again.
"Let me go. "
Aiden watched her slightly. She looked away from him, breathing heavily. For the first time, she wasn't quietly accepting the place he had given her. She was questioning it.
By the time they arrived home, she was exhausted from struggling.
Aiden stepped out of the car and ordered the guards to bring her inside.
She fought against them.
"Where are you taking me?"
No one answered.
They carried her to a room at the far end of the house and placed her inside.
She immediately turned toward Aiden.
"What are you doing?"
He stood at the doorway, completely expressionless.
"She stays here."
He looked toward the guards.
"She gets water. Nothing else until she learns to behave."
Her eyes widened.
"Aiden!"
He didn't respond.
The door slammed shut.
Then came the sound of the lock.
She rushed toward it.
"Aiden! Open the door!"
She pounded against it.
"Please!"
Nothing.
She kept calling his name until her voice became hoarse.
Her phone was taken.
Her tablet was taken.
Every device that could connect her to the outside world disappeared.
She was completely cut off.
For the first time, the enormous house felt less like a home and more like a cage.
The hours passed painfully slowly.
Then the night came.
And eventually, morning.
She sat quietly on the edge of the bed, exhausted and miserable.
She barely touched the water that had been left for her.
She had spent so long crying that eventually there were no tears left.
She simply stared at the floor.
Then the sound of the door opening made her lift her head.
For a moment, she thought it was one of the maids.
But it wasn't.
Aiden walked inside.
He closed the door behind him and approached her.
He sat beside her.
"Get up."
She didn't move.
He waited.
She continued staring ahead.
Aiden reached for her hand and squeezed it firmly.
"I care about you."
Nothing.
"That's why I'm doing this."
Her expression remained empty.
"I want what's best for you."
She slowly looked at him.
He seemed genuinely convinced by his own words.
"You have to understand," he continued. "A wife should know how to behave."
She said nothing.
He reached toward her face and gently moved a strand of hair away from it.
"You should be an obedient wife, shouldn't you?"
She looked directly into his eyes.
There was no answer in her expression.
Aiden leaned forward and pressed a brief kiss against her forehead.
Then he stroked her hair.
"Everything will be fine."
His voice was almost gentle.
"Just be an obedient wife,ok?"
Deep within her mind she came to the conclusion that her life will forever be like this. And an obedient wife is all she can amount to.
She then looked up at him and gave him a nod.
