Chapter 8: Fiona’s Appreciation

Logan's eyes sparkled with excitement as he seemed overly happy. He couldn't believe he was able to do all he did, as he sat and all alone in the field cheering to his victory. Caelus joined him, he was startled but had to fake a brave look.

"Did you see what happened back there, caelus?" Logan asked, barely containing his enthusiasm. "I did it caelus! I stood in for someone"

Caelus chuckled, his ethereal form shimmering with amusement. "You're just beginning to scratch the surface of your abilities, Logan" he said. "But I'm glad you're excited"

As they chit chats continued, Logan noticed anybody passing by would look at him, and the look on their faces triggered his curiosity. What is happening here? Why are they faces like that? He thought to himself and turned to look at caelus.

Not hesitating Caelus told him he was the only one who could see him as he is invisible to everyone else except him, he couldn't believe it as it felt surreal to be the only one who could actually see caelus.

Suddenly Caelus's expression turned serious, and he floated closer to Logan. "I'm ready to help you become the strongest mage in the school" he said, his voice low and mysterious. "But in return, we need to make a deal"

Logan's heart skipped a beat as he narrowed his eyes to look at him. He was eager to learn more about his powers and become stronger. "What deal?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Caelus's smile was enigmatic. "All in due time, Logan. But be rest assured, it's a task that requires your unique abilities. Are you willing to take the risk and trust me?"

Logan hesitated for a moment, but his desire to become stronger and prove himself outweighed his doubts. "Yes, I'm in," he said, his voice firm.

Caelus nodded, his form shimmering with approval. "Excellent Logan. but remember this won't be as easy as you think it would be"

He stopped breathing for a second trying to make sense out of what caelus was trying to say to him. "I don't get it caelus, what are you saying in essence?"

Caelus chuckled then took a two steps closer towards him. "Is nothing to be afraid of Logan, you just have to use your abilities wisely and that's all"

As Caelus began to fade away, Logan tried to stop him. suddenly he realised it was impossible, as caelus varnished into thin air, Logan couldn't help but dive into a severe thinking.

Of what lay ahead, and what deal could Caelus be talking about, he couldn't wait to find out.

"Hello, my name is Fiona, what about you?" Fiona extended her hand for a handshake in bid to know Logan better too. But Logan only helped her because he saw she could not stand Jaxon and Remi and not because of her pretty face.

"Logan" he replied, moment after travelling his eyes round her body. "Thank you Logan. for saving me, you don't know what that means to me"

He smiled as he shrugged his shoulder. "It's nothing Fiona, trust me I didn't believe I could do that myself"

As they talked Fiona noticed a lot of people passing by was actually sending their greetings to him, some bowing their head while some extended they hands for a handshakes.

"You seem to be friends with everyone. That's cool though, hope we can be friends too?"

Logan felt Fiona was only teasing him, even though he had noticed how everyone had begun to show interest in him since he defended Fiona and that was his biggest flex.

"Oh you noticed?" Logan asked smiling. "Off course I did Logan, so can I be called your friend too?"

She sounded funny and Logan couldn't help but laugh out loud, Fiona didn't mind and laughed with him. "I will leave now Logan, see you around" Fiona said, minutes after getting acquainted with Logan.

Fiona left and Logan went back to thinking what caelus could actually mean by the deal he mentioned to him. He was deep into his thought when caelus reappeared to him.

This time he was startled to the point he almost ran away. "Could you at least give me signs before appearing to me caelus?"

Caelus chuckled and told him he would continue appearing to him without a notice. "Ok, what if you appear this way when i have people around me, won't they think I'm going insane?"

"Then you will find a way to deal with it" caelus said but it didn't sit well with Logan, but he could not do otherwise because he was enjoying his company after all.

"So are you ready to hear about the deal now? Caelus asked and Logan didn't hesitate to respond as he nodded his head. "Spill it already caelus, you got me thinking since you left me here with no hint on what you are talking about"

"I would like you to return my soul to my body Logan" caelus said and Logan got a multiple hit on his head, in shock. "What did you just say, caelus?"

not hesitating. Caelus repeated himself for the second time. "How In God's name am I going to achieve that caelus?"

In this response caelus felt sad and thought Logan would not be willing to help. "You know I don't mean it that way caelus. I'm just wondering how I would be able to find where exactly your body is"

Logan's suddenly awakened caelus's hope and he told him the location where his body is. "My body is locked away in a location protected by the royal family"

Logan tried paying a close attention as caelus spoke to him. "But you know I can't invade the royal family now, I'm not even strong enough" he chuckled and promised he would guid him all through the journey.

"I'm going to put you through Logan , I will need to train you on how you can be in charge of your powers first of all.
