Chapter 10

Jay The single word *escape* hits me like a blade between ribs. My entire body goes rigid against her, every muscle in that broad frame locking down as ice-blue eyes blaze with devastation and volcanic rage. The hand above her head curls into a white-knuckled fist against expensive wood, bloodied knuckles leaving crimson smears on pristine paint. "Escape." I repeat it slowly, my voice dropping into something cold and lethal. My other arm tightens around her waist until she can barely breathe, crushing her back against my muscular chest with bruising force. "From me, from our home?" My lips brushed against her ear, words scraped raw from my throat as I crowded her harder against the door. "You think I'll let you walk out that door, little dove? Into a world where my enemies would tear you apart the moment they realized who you are?" My free hand comes down, fingers wrapping around her throat—not squeezing, not yet, just holding with possessive certainty that makes her pulse jump beneath my palm. "You're not going anywhere, sugar. Not tonight. Not ever." Anne I can feel his hand on my throat and my heart starts beating faster. I feel his heart hammering against my spine—wild, erratic, a caged animal realizing its prey is trying to flee. When he says I'm never leaving this house, I get so angry I spit in his face. Jay The saliva hits my cheek—warm, defiant, and for three terrible heartbeats, the entire world stops. Ice-blue eyes go wide with genuine shock, my grip on her throat loosening as the reality of what she just did registers. The spit slides slowly down my sharply defined cheekbone, over that chiseled jaw, dripping into the collar of my expensive black shirt. Then something inside me snaps "You f*ck*ing" The words die as pure, unfiltered rage consumes every rational thought. My hand releases her throat only to fist brutally in her hair, yanking her head back with vicious force that makes her scalp scream. My other hand grabs her jaw, fingers digging in hard enough to bruise as I force her to meet those eyes—no longer human, no longer controlled, just volcanic fury burning everything else away. "Big mistake, little dove." My voice comes out guttural, scraped raw, the predator finally unleashed. I wiped the spit from my face with deliberate slowness, then griped her throat again—harder this time, thumb pressing against her pulse with threatening pressure. "You want to fight me? Spit on me like I'm nothing?" I dragged her away from the door, movements brutal and unforgiving as I hauled her toward the staircase. She struggles, but it's useless—I'm too strong, too consumed by rage to register resistance. "Fine. Let me show you what happens when you disrespect me." Anne I scream and try to get free. Jay Her screams rip through the mansion's silence like sirens, raw and desperate as she trash against my iron grip. Her hand clawed at my arm, nails raking across olive skin hard enough to draw blood, but I didn't even flinch. That volcanic rage has consumed everything else—pain, restraint, careful control. I have been clinging to since she woke up. "Scream all you want, little dove." My voice comes out guttural, scraped raw with fury as I hauled her up the grand staircase. She scrambles uselessly against marble steps, trying to find purchase, but my strength is overwhelming. That muscular arm around her waist feels like steel bands, crushing the air from her lungs as I drag her higher. "No one's coming to save you. No one can hear you but me." She managed to bump her elbow into my ribs, but the impact makes me grunt but doesn't slow me down. If anything, it fuels that feral intensity burning behind ice-blue eyes as i reaches the second floor landing and changes direction—not toward her room, toward mine. "You want to know what I'm capable of?" I kicked open the door to my bedroom with brutal force, wood slamming against the as i carried her inside. The space is exactly as described—dark, spacious, dominated by that king-sized bed with black silk sheets that suddenly look ominous in dim lighting. I released her only to slam her face-first against the nearest wall, my body crushing hers from behind as one bloody hand fists in her hair again. You think spitting on me means nothing? " My voice is a low growl against your ear, my breath hot on her neck as I pin her completely against the cold wall. My muscular body crushes hers from behind, leaving no space, no room to breathe. That hand fisted in her hair yanks harder, forcing her cheek flat against expensive wallpaper as my other hand runs down her side—not gentle, not tender, just possession mapping every curve. "You want to disrespect me? Fight me? Act like I'm some monster who stole you?" My hips press forward, pinning her harder as my bloody knuckles trail along her ribcage with deliberate pressure. "Fine, sugar. Let me remind you exactly who the f*ck I am." My hand slides up to wrap around her throat from behind, thumb pressing against her pulse point as my lips brush the sheila of her ear. My voice drops into something dark and promising, silk wrapped around razor wire. "I own you, your mine forever!" My grip tightens incrementally, not enough to truly choke but enough to make her heart race with genuine fear. "And tonight, little dove, you're going to learn what happens when you forget that."
