Chapter 13 Consent to Abortion

611 Words
Suddenly, several bodyguards emerged from all sides to block Lucas's path, and he had no choice but to call out, “Sebastian!’ Sebastian smirked, approaching Lucas slowly, and reiterated, “Put her down.”   “Can’t you see? Amy needs to go to the hospital now,” Lucas retorted.   “She's my wife. Why are you worried about her?” Sebastian coldly replied.   “Sebastian!” Lucas was nearly furious, but before he could say more, a bodyguard struck him in the leg, causing him to kneel in pain. But he still clutched Grace tightly.   Again, Sebastian commanded coldly, “Put her down.”   Lucas tried to stand up, but another kick from the bodyguard brought him back to his knees. Grace slipped from Lucas's arms and fell to the ground, unconscious, her brows furrowing in discomfort.   “Let her go, don’t make me repeat it,” Sebastian stated, his gaze unwavering. Lucas remained silent, and attempted to stand again, but the bodyguards continued to prevent him from doing so. Grace fell to the ground, injured and unconscious. Sebastian showed no concern, looking on indifferently.   Lucas's eyes blazed with anger while struggling to break free from the bodyguards' grip, but to no avail. He was so enraged, “Are you crazy? She's you wife. How could you treat her like this?”   Sebastian didn’t respond or even look at Lucas. He squatted and patted Grace’s face before covering her with his coat that passed by his bodyguard. “Oh, what a surprise. You do know that Amy is my wife.” Sebastian carried Grace in his arms, “Since she’s my wife, then anything happened between us is none of your business.” Lucas was still trying to get rid of the two bodyguards. “If you don’t love her, why don’t you let her go?” Sebastian paused and a smirk crept across his face. Didn't I let her go? It was she who had shamelessly intruded into my life, attempting to replace my beloved.   He carried the unconscious Amy to the car. The driver glanced at Sebastian through the rearview mirror, unsure if he should ask about heading to the hospital. Amy's clothes were soaked in blood and even Sebastian’s black coat was stained. Her wet clothes were already dry, and her body was burning. Her pale cheeks also turned read because of high fever, and her breathing became slow and heavy. The driver finally asked, “Sir, are we heading to the hospital or...?” Before he finished his sentence, Sebastian responded, “Go back to Imperial Palace.”   As the car journeyed on, Amy's fever intensified, and she mumbled incoherently, “Baby... don't worry, baby, mommy loves you. Lucas, Lucas, save my child. Sebastian, this is your child, trust me, believe me.” Her hand gestured weakly in the air, and Sebastian watched her with narrowed eyes. He then said to the driver, “Harry, go to the hospital.”   At the hospital, Sebastian was busy on the phone outside the operating room. He asked Harry to sign all the documents that the nurse brought to him. As the door opened, the nurse handed over the “Consent to Abortion”. Harry couldn’t make the decision, so he took it to Sebastian. Without patience, Sebastian took over the paper and hanged the phone. He got the pen from the nurse and signed it himself. When the nurse left, Sebastian couldn't help but laugh, mumbled, knocking over a potted plant in frustration. “Amy, how dare you, how dare you say that the baby is mine?” He then vanished around a corner, leaving behind the mess.
