“Candice?” I swallowed hard, feeling nervous as another knock echoed in the room, and I weighed my options about opening the door.
“Come in,” My voice wavered a bit as I called out.
Kaden stepped inside and froze when he saw me.
“I’m heading out,” I said quickly, trying to explain while he scanned me from head to toe. I was still battling with the zipper, and my cheeks turned red with embarrassment. I secretly wished he would come over and help me with my dress, but he just stood there, arms crossed and a frown on his face, staring at me.
“The reason Lincoln is waiting for you downstairs,” he stated, and since it wasn’t a question, I didn’t feel the need to reply.
