Chapter Seven The Garden of Eden When we return home, James helps me into the condo and I fall on our bed, exhausted. In my dream I’m walking through the Garden of Eden. The loose brown soil feels smooth and warm under the soles of my feet. I’m hungry. I try to remember which grove my favorite fruit tree is in. I see an area of high grasses up ahead. The tall green spears sway gently in the breeze and massage my skin as I pass through the quiet meadow. On the other side of the tall grass I see the beast.
