27 Pressed against the bathroom door, I tried for composure. It took mere seconds to admit miserable failure before I tugged off Sean’s clothes and ducked into the shower. After having a small fit, whereupon I deep-screamed a few times, stamped my feet, and banged my fists against the tiled interior wall of the shower cubicle, my frustration faded enough for me to function. Whatever Sean said to the contrary, the stench clinging to my body needed to go. Beginning with a good scalp massage, I lathered in the shampoo, but couldn’t help thinking about everything Nathan said. Even if the histories were accurate, it didn’t mean they had to be true.
