Mawusi's other plots to poison me always failed. She became very desperate to wipe the rest of the family. She then decided that if she could not poison me she would do something different for me to die.
My daily routine after completing my exams and waiting for my scholarship was selling on the street daily to make an end meets even though the whole family helped, I had to help also. I sold fruits which I always packaged myself early and then move on the Street to sell on this fateful day, I was selling till it was ten in the evening. I was alone walking on one of the roads heading towards
the house where I heard a loud noise, it was some group of boys, they called and asked how much my fruits cost, and they took the last five left in my basket. After wards I asked for my payment and they refused to pay me, angrily I shouted at them and asked them to make the payments.
They got angry and one of them slapped me very hard which made me almost fell down because I had not even eaten that evening. I got so mad and kept shouting until they closed my mouth with their hands and quickly rushed me into the Bush, all they said was, foolish girl how could you even ask us to pay.
One of the guys told the other, “Let’s hurry and complete this mission "they removed my pants, pushed me on the floor in the Bush. I kept screaming until I heard someone say. “Who is that" the boys quickly run away. Lo and behold, I saw one old man and he asked me". My daughter are you ok”, I cried bitterly and thanked the man for saving my life. I was really spared. When I got home everyone was asleep and I went to lay down and slept.
Early the next morning, my third brother Ewenam called my mum and me and said.
"Mama, you have been taking care of me for so many years now, it is true I am the last born but I think it's time for me to accept and follow the footsteps of my departed brother Edem". Ewenam was also very ready to become a juju man. Well he started the chanting and cleaned the whole juju grounds, he dropped out of school and started working. People really came to the house to seek for spiritual help and so I had to stop selling because my brother was getting enough to take care of us. Surprisingly, Ewenam had promised he would not do the juju job for long and so a year later he gathered more money than he could and they went back to school.
Mawusi my friend always come to my home as usual I realized she had change ,she started making advances at my brother ewenam but my brother never paid attention to her. He had to go to the boarding school which he paid everything for himself, I was soon proud of him. When he left for the boarding school it was left with my mum and me alone. Ewenam attended a Roman school and this made him closer to the lord. He wanted to succeed due to this he became a cleaner for the priest in the school afterwards he would go and learn. He enjoyed his schooling.
As I was sitting tight to hear some good news from the scholarship I had applied for, Mawusi also struggles to complete her high school exams. She tries and fails soon many times even though I had been teaching her. I tried to encourage her and kept telling her that giving up is not an option for her. She decided to come stay with us for a while since she was lonely and her mother had travelled. She was a good company to me. She stayed with us for six weeks until her mother came back. Ewenam my brother had come home on vacation. We were all happy to see him. He decided to take us to church and let us know that he had turned a new creation we always followed him and were very grateful for that opportunity. Mawusi also makes it a point to follow us everywhere we went to as it was part of her plans to complete her mission. Well I was grateful for a happy family.
