you want a wedding night

CHAPTER 3 (YOU WANT A WEDDING NIGHT?) "I'll sign!" Trenton had just finished his sentence when Sharlene quickly responded, grabbing the pen at lightning speed. Without any hesitation, she signed her name right after "Party B" on the contract. Sharlene signed so thoughtlessly and so quickly, handing the contract to him carefully and happily. However, it didn’t please Trenton. The depression came unexpectedly. He didn't want her to beg him; in fact, he wished she would just leave his life entirely, with no ties between them. But what was this now? Sharlene had managed to get into his bed and had shamelessly let people take a picture of them so that she could marry him. Then, the Wood family could go through the hard time, and after that, Trenton would be no use. Ha! What did the Wood family take him for? A fool? As this thought crossed Trenton’s mind, anger bubbled up inside him. Just as the anger began to rise, he couldn't help but let out a cold laugh. A fool? He wouldn’t be one! Sharlene watched the man's expression change rapidly, confused. She had done everything he asked, so why did he still look so angry? But what did that matter to her? She had just read the contract he drafted, and her memory was sharp. He had clearly stated that she couldn't interfere with his affairs. So, his mood was not something she needed to worry about. "I've signed it," she said carefully. "Um... one year later, you need to tell Dayton this." Trenton suddenly looked up, his gaze fierce as it swept over her, as if he wanted to burn a hole right through her. After a moment, he scoffed, "That's not your business." He grabbed the signed agreement and stood up, ready to leave. "Trent!" Trenton abruptly halted, glancing sideways at her with cold eyes. Sharlene’s heart skipped a beat, but she forced herself to stay calm. Remembering what he had said that night in the hotel, she managed to squeeze out a smile. "Sorry, I'm just used to calling you that. "Are you leaving now?" At her words, Trenton let out a cold laugh. He turned to face her, remaining silent. "You..." Sharlene took a deep breath. "Can you stay? I..." "Ha—" He scoffed, "Why? You want a wedding night?" Sharlene's face flushed, warmth creeping up her cheeks. Taking another deep breath, she replied, "I would not even think of doing that thing with you." At her words, Trenton's face became sullen. After a moment, he smiled again, "Oh really?" The way he drew out the last word dripped with sarcasm. His gaze was filled with mockery and disdain. His merely two words made Sharlene's face pale, leaving her feeling embarrassed. She knew he was alluding to what had happened that night. That night was still a mystery to her. She was a victim too—why should she endure his mockery? She was innocent, wasn’t she? If she could, she really wanted to slap him in the face! And in fact, she just did that. Sharlene raised her hand to swing at his face, but halfway through, he caught her wrist tightly. A sharp pain shot through her wrist as his icy voice pierced through the air, “You want to hit me? Hmm?” His words snapped Sharlene back to reality. But she didn’t want to apologize. “I’ve explained it to you, but you wouldn’t listen!” Sharlene glared at him in frustration. “Trenton, you don’t have to be so snarky. I know you look down on me, and I don’t love you either, so... mmm...”
