Some of the things I have just said, felt so foreign coming out of my mouth.
Serena is avoiding my gaze and the air feels thick. She is staring at the plush wolf toy in her hands in silence.
"I need you to know..." I start to say, frowning fully.
"I know," she replies quietly, "I know that was difficult for you to say and some of it you do not agree with."
I nod in agreement with her comment.
She gets it, she always does.
I get off the bed and go over to my dresser in the corner by the door and pour myself some water.
