"Ella will shortly be able to see in his aura if it is working," Austin tells James quietly, putting his hand onto his shoulder affectionately.
I watch patiently, my heart thudding in my chest. I suddenly gasp and clutch at my chest in relief, nodding dramatically.
Relief washes over me as his aura begins to strengthen.
"It is working," I say, dropping to the floor and holding my head between my legs. For a doctor I perhaps ought to be less stressed in a moment like this, but many things about this is bad.
"Okay. James. What happened. Who took Serena?" Austin asks him urgently.
"What? What's happened to Serena?" I gasp.
James recounts what had just happened at the school and I can feel Austin getting angrier and angrier.
