Chapter Eighteen

Someone had taken a video and posted it on the internet. The internet almost exploded. There was a sudeen uproar in the Internet. Comments were flowing about Cindy and Jonathan's declaration of his relationship with Cindy.

"Damn it, she's so beautiful! Please someone ask her if she had a sister,"

"They really too good together. Did anyone of you see that"

"What? Did Jonathan just said that she's his future wife, I can't believe it!"

"How lucky she is, she even manage to have Jonathan so whipped, I wish I was her"

"No! How dare she take our Mr Black away? Although our Mr Black is a Playboy who changes women at every function, I've never such a genuine smile on his face and he has never introduced those women either. This lady muct be priceless. I can't just watch him being taken away just like that!"

"The commenter above, your prince charming has been taken away, please cast your eyes on someone else and let him be happy,"

"I totally agree. If my Jonathan had found his true love, there's still that friend of his, Martin White, he's not taken yet, he's now by prince charming,"

Martin White didn't know that he has just become the prey among the ladies after his friend was hooked

"We have just lost an eligible bachelor just like that."

It was a surprise that there were no negative comments on them. The people who had created the uproar didn't seem to care about what was happening outside or on the internet, they just walked inside.

What Jonathan and Cindy didn't realize was that Cindy's life had been put in danger after she had been exposed to the media. Someone from not so far away was soon going to come after her.

When Jonathan walked inside with Cindy beside him, all eyes turned to look at them with awe. There was a sudden pin drop silence inside the room as the people gawked at the newly arrived couple.They were so dashing with those couple like clothes that they had on. Jonathan's hands were on Cindy's waist as they walked and Jonathan greeted some of the business partners on the way and introduced Cindy as well.

"Who is that woman? I've never seen her before"

"Who doesn't know that Mr Black changes his female companions every year? She's just another one of those ladies."

" I think she's different, Mr Black never introduces his female companions to his business partners, this is the first time."

"Yeah, and the way he's looking at her, she might be his girlfriend,"

"What a b***h, how did she manage to seduce Mr Black?"

"I bet she climbed into his bed. How could Jonathan like a woman like her?"

There were a lot of whispers among the ladies. Some of them were so jealous and envious of Cindy while some thought that she was rather lucky. Having a man like Jonathan Black, who wouldn't want that?

Most of the mothers were also feeling resentment as they watched Cindy in Jonathan's arms. They had daughter's too who could match up to Jonathan but it seemed like they had failed even without trying. What a pity, they couldn't help but sigh at a lose.

Cindy could feel the gazes of those resentful women around her but with Jonathan beside her, she couldn't care about them, he was her armor against all of them.

"Hello Mr Black, who's the beautiful lady beside you?' Most of the business partners couldn't help but ask as they made some small business talks with Jonathan.

"Yes Mr Black, aren't you going to introduce us to your companion?" Some of them were curious, they had already arrived earlier so they didn't know what had happened at the entrance with the reporters.

Jonathan didn't seem to mind their chatters as he gracefully introduced her to them. Who wouldn't be happy when the people were commenting on how beautiful she was. Cindy on the other hand greeted them politely after she was introduced.

Those old geezers were impressed by her humble attitude. Although a lot of people would try to show off if they to be Jonathan's girlfriend, she didn't seem to show off or be proud about it. She was still acting like her usual self.

That man who had had a meeting with Jonathan and requested him to introduce his girlfriend to him, was also impressed by her.

"Young man, you're lucky to have found such a precious treasure. She's a keeper. If I had a son, I wouldn't have hesitated to introduce her to him, too bad they are all married," the old man joked. He ready had wanted to know what kind of woman would hold this man down and was surprised to be such a simple but elegant woman.

"Yes I'm really lucky to have met her but I wouldn't give you the chance to introduce her to anyone. She's only meant to be mine, ouch," Jonathan winced when she felt someone elbow him on his side stomach.

He looked down and found the little woman glaring daggers at him.

"Sweetheart, what have I done. Do you want to kill your future husband?" He teased with an innocent smile on his face.

"Mind your words or else I'll hit you again," she warned and Jonathan didn't tease her again afraid that she'll hit him if he did. He just had on a doting and helpless smile on his face.

She then turned to look at the old man with an apologetic smile on her face.

"Please don't take his words to heart, he's just joking," she said to him.

The old man laughed heartily and said to her, "You really have the guts. I really like you." She was the only person who could warn Jonathan and he would still listen to her.

"She really is the only person who could warn Mr Black for real"

"And what with that helpless expression on his face. He looks like a wife slave and he's not even married yet,"

"Mr Black is totally whipped. This girl is truly incredible." Those old men couldn't help but comment seeing on their relationship was so good.

The ladies could only look on with envious eyes. If only they could manage to capture Jonathan's heart or eyes, couldn't they be too in that position? Of being complimented and being the envious eyes of everyone.

Crystal James who was among those envious ladies could only look on while grinding her teeth in anger as her neatly manicured naily dug deep into her palms.

'Cindy George, I won't let you go that humiliation I suffered that day. Wait and see,' if someone could see that sinister expression on her face, they would be scared shitless.

Cindy who happened to feel someone glaring daggers at her turned her eyes in that direction and was met by that sinister expression on Crystal's face. She couldn't help but feel a chill down her spine as she shivered.

Jonathan who was holding onto her caught on her movements and followed her direction of signt and also saw that expression on Crystal's face. When Crystal saw Cindy look back at her, she didn't hide her face and was caught unaware when Jonathan turned to look at her as well. She couldn't help but lower her head.

Jonathan looked at her with cold eyes and hugged Cindy close to him. " Don't bother about her, she can't harm you, okay?" He asssure her as she nodded her head in reply.

"Excuse me gentlemen, I'd like to introduce my girlfriend to someone," Jonathan excused himself from a the business talks when he noticed his mom among the crowd. He then held on Cindy's waist and walked towards her.

Elizabeth Black who had noticed his son walk towards her direction with Cindy in his arms was evidently happy. It seemed like the little girl didn't reject his son. She also excused herself from the ladies.

"Mother," Jonathan greeted his mom. His voice was evidently stiff since he was not that close to his mom although he knew whatever she did was for his own good.

"Hello son, Cindy I'm glad you made it," she rolled her eyes as she greeted them enthusiastically. She was used to her son's stiffness when it came to their relationship. She only hoped that one day things would change and they would be happy.

"Hello Mrs Black," Cindy was still cautious about her although they had talked that time.

"Come on child, just call me mother just like he does or just mom. According to the uproar you caused on the internet, it wouldn't be too late before you're my daughter in law." She was visibly happy about their relationship.

Cindy could only lower her head down. How could she call her mom and they were not even married yet? Let alone getting married, they just started dating the just a few days ago.

"Mother?" Jonathan was confused about his mother's reaction. Why didn't she seem to be surprised about knowing their relationship. He cast questioning eyes towards Cindy who avoided his gaze.

He had promised himself that he would ask her about their talk that day but forgotten since Cindy had said that she liked him. But looking at them now, he had to know what kind of talk they had had that day.

"No worries son, I'm happy that you finally met someone that you like. At least I don't have to organize blind dates with those annoying women anymore." She then proceeded to introduce Cindy to her circle of friends as her future daughter in law.

Jonathan could only watch helplessly as his girlfriend was dragged by her mother from one table to another. He left them to their business as he looked for his friend.

Those people swing that were really surprised. They knew her as a very strict woman. It was not so easy to see her accept someone so easily. They thought that Cindy might be from a powerful background.

What they didn't know was that Jonathan's mother didn't mind Cindy's background as long as Jonathan liked her.

Those women who really thought that their daughters still had some hope of being with Jonathan were really disappointed. Since Elizabeth Black had organized blind dates with their daughters they thought they would have a chance but who knew Cindy would come along the way and capture Jonathan's heart.
