On Sunday as usual, Cindy woke up early in the morning to do laundry and thorough house cleaning. She was planning to go buy groceries for the next week since she didn't like shopping whenever she had work.
When she came back from the grocery store, she found Violet waiting for her at her doorstep.
"Hey Cin, hope you're doing okay?" Violet spoke up immediately she saw Cindy walk from the elevator. The last she saw her friend was at the club after being dragged out of the club by their boss.
"Hey V, I'm doing okay. What are you doing here?" Cindy greeted her friend back as she opened the door as she ushered her in.
"Well, I'm bored. I wanted us to go shopping. You're not busy are you? Violet didn't seem like asking for her opinion, she seemed to have rather decided everything.
Cindy chuckled at her friend as she walked towards the kitchen to keep her groceries with Violet following behind her.
"Since I'm your good friend, I'll not disappoint you,' she joked. Violet only laughed at her silly joke.
"Water or juice?" Cindy turned and looked at Violet who was smiling mischievously at her. She arched her eyebrows as she tried to guess what was on her mind.
"Juice is okay, so tell me, how was your stay at boss's place?" Violet asked her as she fluttered her eyelashes at Cindy.
She laughed as she poured her a glass of orange juice and replied, " It was okay. We slept and he made breakfast."
"What? Mr Black made breakfast? He knows how to?" Violet exclaimed in surprise as she took the glass of juice from Cindy and made herself comfortable on the kitchen stool.
"I was surprised too. Isn't he supposed to know how to make money only?" She asked her friend back.
"You're lucky to have had breakfast made by boss, what else happened? Come on spill it girl." Violet's gossip mode seemed to have been activated.
"Spill what? There's nothing to spill okay? Nothing happened between me and Mr Black. You tell me what happened between you and Tyson." She managed to change the topic and focus on Violet instead.
She saw her friend's face flush as she avoided her gaze and had a feeling that something had happened between them after all she could always feel that both of them had feelings for each other.
"Well?" Cindy inquired again
"Nothing really, we just kissed and he asked me out on a date next Friday after work," Violet answered honestly as she fiddled with her fingers. She looked like a highschooler in love. Cindy couldn't help but laugh at her friend, she looked so adorable.
"Silly girl. How can you say that it's nothing yet you guys kisses and are going on a date. I'm happy for you. You guys are making progress." She said to her friend with sincerity. She was really happy for her two friends that she had managed to make in her one week stay at Black Enterprises.
After making small talk for a while, Cindy went to her bedroom to prepare for their shopping later. She came back in a while dressed in a black ripped jeans, a white crop top and on her feet were black and white converse. She had her hair tied in a ponytail. She looked different from her herself in work clothes.
"Damn Cin you're looking great," Violet exclaimed in surprise. Her friend was looking great that she wished she was a man (winks).
They then went off shopping. They went in Violet's car since she had drove to Cindy's place. Cindy was surprised at how Violet was different when it came to shopping. She was dragging her from mall to mall and buying different types of clothes. From dresses, trousers, blouses, work attires, lingeries and shoes.
Violet believed that one should not wear the same clothe he or she had worn before while going to work. She made a pact with Cindy that they were to shop for clothes every Sunday that was enough for them for the whole week.
When they finished shopping, Cindy was tired that she was dragging her feet. She thanked God for not wearing heels while going out and made a promise to always wear sport shoes or flats while going shopping with Violet.
After leaving the last shopping mall, they dropped their shopping bags in Violet's car.
Cindy then dragged Violet to a near cafe to have a rest and eat something since she was so hungry from all the shopping they did. They both ordered drinks and cakes at the cafe and then left to rest. It was almost evening when they finished.
Violet had to drag Cindy again to take a stroll with the excuse of digesting what they had ate. Cindy had no choice but to follow her friend. By the time they went back to the car, it was almost dinner time. Cindy was preparing herself to order take out immediately after she arrived back at her apartment. She was so tired and had no energy to cook for herself.
Violet had to drop Cindy back at her apartment since she didn't want her to take a cab back with all the shopping bags. After dropping her off, she insisted on helping her carry the bags to her apartment but she denied telling to go rest since she could help the front desk to help her deliver all the bags at her room. She didn't insist anymore and left to go back to her place.
Cindy then asked the front desk to help her bring the bags to her room and went upstairs.
She was surprised when she reached her room and found that her door was unlocked. She became alert thinking that it was robbery.
She opened the door slowly as she crept in and took a baseball bat that she always put beside the door. There was no one in the living room and made her way to the kitchen when she heard some movements come from the kitchen.
She was surprised to find Jonathan in her kitchen in her pink apron stirring something that was cooking on the stove. She heaved a sigh of relief when she saw it was him and was glad that Violet didn't help her with the bags.
Jonathan who had heard Cindy open the front door turned around and looked at her and found her carrying a baseball bat.
He smiled knowingly and said to her ignoring her inquisitive eyes, "Hey, you're back. Go freshen up. Dinner will be ready soon." And then he turned back to the stove to continue what he was doing.
"Jonathan what are you doing here?" She asked as she couldn't understand him at all. Why was he behaving like her house was his home?
But you like it that he's preparing you dinner, right Cindy? Right on time, even her subconscious was now questioning her.
She ignored her subconscious and raised her eyebrows at the handsome man that was busy in the kitchen.
"Isn't obvious princess, I'm making us dinner," he replied in a matter of fact tone as he turned to look at her. He was happy that she was calling him with his name.
Cindy knew she couldn't win so she left to her room to freshen up as told. She came back minutes later and found the table already set. The aroma from the food was so enticing that Cindy heard her stomach grumble in hunger. Didn't she ate with Violet, why's my stomach grumbling? 'Maybe I'm really hungry,' she thought to herself and sat down to eat with her boss.
After dinner, Cindy insisted on washing the plates and Jonathan left after wishing her goodnight and a kiss on the cheeks. Cindy only sighed helplessly at her boss and retired to bed.
